I am piggybacking off of what my friend Zoltan said in his post and taking it a step further. You can read it for yourself here and when you're finished, go ahead and upvote it while you are there.
Steem and more specifically ctptalk work best when we work together. Voting is free here. It takes nothing away from you. As a matter of fact, it works to your advantage. It doesn't matter if they write War and Peace or Aun't Gertrude's Fudge recipe (Blue ribbon awards and all). Support others on the blockchain. Vote and comment on posts. If someone likes your comment great. Guess what? Free tokens for you. When they get paid on their post, you share in that as well. It may not be a huge amount but, so what? 1 token is 1000x more than if you don't take an active role here.
So, don't hate people that may have bigger upvotes than you. Get out there and support them. What else are you gonna do with all those tokens you staked anyway? Put them to good use. You don't have to give every post and comment 100% upvotes. The higher the vote count, the bigger the reward pool to share in.
I am personally challenging everyone in the ctp tribe to get out there and curate. Are you in or do you want to be left behind?
Remember, we have a 60/40 split here. I'm confused as to why more people are not actively involved here every day.
As always,
just my .02¢ YMMV

And I like "Don't hate, CURATE!"

This is a great extension on @ph1102 's post! Curating is easy in itself & I try to do a little bit each day. I want to support our tribe in various ways, including this. Some days, it will be more curating, other days I might be posting more. Nevertheless, there's always a good balance I can achieve between the two.
Thank you both for the reminder & I also love the phrase "Don't Hate, Curate!" ;)

The biggest thing I have seen about Steem (and CTPTalk) curation is that it is so much easier than the typical content curation you need to do for effect and Google SEO purposes. There is no reason why people cannot curate here from day one. On the other hand, traditional curation is an art.

Love your posting, and I will take your challenge and I plan on winning but just in case please send me 2 pounds of "Aun't Gertrude's Fudge" and the recipe and a copy of the Blue Ribbon. Still a newbie at this but it is getting easier and I am becoming more comfortable with what I am doing

Good quality content is actually quite rare
I mean, sure, most people can write half-decent posts, but writing something great which also fits a specific subject? Oh boy. That way, finding content to curate is like a treasure hunt.

I'd take half decent over half assed and lazy.
