Hong Kong Culture – HK style breakfast 香港文化 – 港式早餐

This morning before having the motoring lesson, I enjoyed a great HK style breakfast. I wanted to take the chance to introduce to you the HK style breakfast of HK.

今天早上的學車前,特意到快餐店享受一個豐的早餐,這個時候,我突然想跟大家介紹一下香港的港式早餐。

HK style breakfast is modified from British breakfast. When HK was colonized by the British, they also brought the British style food and dishes to HK. As the culture of Chinese and British can never be the same, the British style food are gradually modified to suit the taste of Chinese. HK Style Breakfast is one of them.

港式早餐源於英式早餐,當初英國殖民香港,亦將英式風格的食物及餐飲帶到香港。不過,始終文化有別,英式食物到了香港後,亦慢慢的被香港人改良成迎合香港人的口味,港式早餐,就是其中之一。

A macaroni soup with ham is a must have item in HK style breakfast! We can’t stand for the arrival of lunch time without it! Apart from macaroni soup with ham, we also have other choices:

一個火腿通粉可是我們早上最重要的東西了!如果沒有這個通粉,我們又如何可以捱到下午?當然,除了火腿通粉,我們也有很多不同選擇,常見的有:

And mine? Mine was fusilli with sausage in lobster soup.

The next one is egg! HK people like egg in the morning! We have fired egg, Scrambled eggs, steamed egg, together with food like sausage, ham, chicken fillet, fish fillet…etc. Perfect!

下一道就是煎蛋了!香港的朋友也很喜歡早上吃一個蛋,不論是蒸蛋、煎蛋或是炒蛋都可以,再配搭一道如腸仔、火腿、雞扒、魚柳等,完美!

And mine? It’s Japanese sauce’s patty…

The last one is a cup of drink! This time I ordered milk tea. There are many kinds of drinks for breakfast in HK, such as: tea, coffee, yeunyeung (coffee with tea), lemon water, lemon tea, ovaltine, Horlicks, chocolate, milk, almond milk, watercress tea…

最後就是一杯熱飲了,這次我點的是奶茶,不同人有不同喜愛,香港人五花八門,:奶茶、咖啡、鴛鴦、檸水、檸茶、華田、柯力、朱古力、鮮奶、杏霜、菜蜜等,其實還有其他飲料的,不過早餐很少點就是了!

HK style breakfast is tasty but from the photos you may find the it’s high in calorie. So I usually prepare my breakfast at home. Maybe sometimes I want to have a HK style breakfast in restaurant, I may also go out, sometimes…

好像很好吃吧!但你看照片應該也看得出港式早餐熱量很高了!所以我現在通常在是在家準備早餐,至少熱量可以控制,餐廳的高熱量早餐,偶然一試就夠了~

Wow that breakfast is our lunch here :) But all dishes look delicious. I have never tried the watercress tea, but looks interesting.

而不是杏仁牛奶 🙂
