Maulid is a tradition to celebrate birthday of the prophet muhammad shallallahu alaihi wa sallam in the Acehnese culture. The stuff that look like a cylinder is called Idang and contained many delicious foods.people will gather in a mosque or a place called meunasah and every family in a community or village will bring the idang.Then in the mosque people will recite shalawat (praise to the prophet Muhammad shallallahubalaihi wasallam) and poem to remember of his struggle in spreading Islam. When the celebretion finish people eat together the food in the idang and because there are too many food people can take the food home. This celebration is started from 12 rabiul awwal in Hijriah calender until jumadil awwal and every village will take turns to celebrate the maulid
