JUNGLE JUSTICe

Jungle justice means judgment and execution on the spot by the public. Whereby a suspected criminal is caught, beaten, and killed right there. Not by members of the military, but the public..YES..the Public.

Why would any man kill another man because he's guilty of a crime(not necessarily even guilty)? It's barbaric for anybody to support and think it is justifiable that this form of punishment is even considered at all.

I've been a victim of a robbery, the fool even gave me a dirty slap. I swear if he's ever caught, I would bring fuel to roast him to death and I'd have no remorse. To be honest I'm still confused as to which stance to take.

It is wrong. Totally wrong!! But...I support it to an extent.

One would think I'm barbaric and heartless. I'm not. Some of this criminals actually deserve to die. They've taken lives of innocent ones, stolen, caused indescribable sadness to parents and children. These ones deserve to die..not the petty criminals. That's where a major mistake is being made. Abuse.

The average Nigerian carries a default anger, probably anger at the state of the economy and our leaders. The slightest opportunity to vent this anger is grabbed with so much enthusiasm. We are all suffering together, nobody should take a shortcut Every criminal caught by the public is then given the same judgment. Death!!. But should it be? Should we take the life of another human because he has done wrong? Without fair trial? Without a chance to tell their side of the already concluded story?

Yes please! I still think compared to the pain they have caused others, death is more like an easy way out. If only we had a fair justice system in which the people could put their trust in..but we don't have. And Nigerians have always been excellent at adapting to situations, so in the absence of a fair justice system, the people have decided to take it into their hands...the job of passing judgment on criminals or suspects. They're not always right, sometimes innocents suffer the same fate as these criminals. Could be a case of mistaken identity, wrong place wrong time, or just simply bad-luck.

I sincerely hope we all see the light soon.
