This South Indian snack is called Sambhar Vada".
The vada ( ring shaped ) is made from a mashed lentil dough. The vadas are deep fried and served hot.
Sambhar is the lentil Curry which is sour in taste because of the tamarind which is added.
Also served along are coconut, tomato and mint chutney ( sauce).
It is very yummy in taste.
