오늘은 제가 얼마 전 보게 된 흥미로운 사진을 가지고 여름에 어울리는 주제로 이야기를 해보려고 합니다.
사진속에는 상체가 부각된 의상을 입고 있는 서양 여성과 하체가 부각된 의상을 입고 있는 한국 여성이 서로를 쳐다보며 야하다고 생각하고 있어요!
저는 서양 여성들이 한국 여성보다 노출에 더 과감하고 자유롭다고 생각하고 있었는데요, 사진에서처럼 정말 서양인들은 한국인들의 의상이 노출의 정도가 더 심하다고 생각하는것일까요? 그렇다면 왜 그런것일까요?
저도 이 사진을 보고 너무 궁금해서 현재 한국에 살고 있는 저의 미국인 친구에게 물어봤습니다. 그 친구의 말에 따르면 서양인들도 짧은 미니스커트나 숏팬츠를 즐겨 입지만 주로 파티와 같은 특별한 날이나 해변가에서 놀때 많이 입는편이고, 평상복으로는 잘 입지 않는다고 합니다. 한국에서는 미니스커트나 숏팬츠를 일상복으로 많이 입는편이죠. 제 친구도 한국에 처음 왔을때 한국 여성들의 노출의상을 보고 걱정을 많이 했다고 하네요.
제 친구가 덧붙였던 말이 한국은 세계에서 손꼽히는 만큼 치안이 좋은 곳이기 때문에 짧은 의상이 괜찮을 수 있지만, 미국에선 이런 옷차림으로 돌아다니다가는 큰일이 날 수 도 있다고 합니다. 특히 늦은 밤에는 더욱 조심해야 한다구요. 미국의 치안 상태를 익히 들어왔던 터라 개방적인 서양여성들이 왜 이렇게 노출에 민감한지 어느정도 이해가 가더라구요!
상체가 부각된 의상의 미란다 커, 하체가 부각된 의상의 한효주, 여러분은 어느쪽이 더 야하다고 생각되시나요~?
가슴 노출이 더 야하다고 생각하는 한국 문화, 그리고 다리 노출이 더 야하다고 생각하는 서양문화 과연 이 문화의 차이는 어디서 온 것 일까요? 저는 아무리 생각해봐도 모르겠지만 생각해보는것만으로도 너무 재미있는것 같아요^^ 여러분의 의견도 궁금합니다^^

저도 오래전부터 비슷한 생각을 했어요. 괜시리 반갑네요. ㅎㅎ 사실 유럽은 예전부터 다리를 야하다고 생각했대요. 영화 "아마데우스"만 봐도 그 시기 드레스가 가슴은 푹 파였는데 다리는 전혀 안 보이잖아요. 심지어 가구나 피아노의 다리도 야하다고 해서 천으로 가렸다고 들었어요.

In what Western country is showing your legs considered too revealing? I don't know of a context in Western culture where cleavage would be appropriate but a short skirt is not.
PS. I don't think either of these things are too revealing. I have no problem with men or women showing their skin.

It's specific to westerners living in Korea.
Westerners believe Korean women's shorts are way too short while Korean's believe westerners shows too much cleavage. I totally agree with you! I don't think there is problem with showing their skin wether they're men or women ;) But I thought this is really interesting topic to think about.
