Inside of the Main Building of the Temple, Gwan Chock Sa

Finally I stood in front of the main building of the Temple.

IMG_5750.JPG

It was dim, but I could see beautiful colors of back ground in it

IMG_5749.JPG

There are 3 Buddhas in the main building, past Buddha, present Buddha, and Future Buddha,
Left one is past Buddha, center is a present Buddha of Shakyamonyi, The light one is future Buddha.

The future Buddha had an important meaning for people.
They had believed in that the future Buddha would save for their difficult life of this present time.
The future Buddha was believed in as a savior like Jesus.

The ceiling of the building was impressive, there was a beautiful ornament above of the statues of Buddha.

There were 2 dragons of blue and red.
I've posted the meaning of dragons in Buddhism.

They are a kinds of horse of Kannon Bodhisattva, the goddess of mercy.
They should fly so fast to hear the prays of people.

IMG_5755.JPG

There were the sculptures of the angels in each side.
The angel is of the appearance of a boy, not a woman.

IMG_5753.JPG

IMG_5754.JPG

There are wild geese at each side of the ornament of the ceiling.

IMG_5751.JPG

IMG_5752.JPG

Why are the wild geese in this temple ?
I was curious about the reason why ?
But there I couldn't find a person who could answer to my question.

If you ever had read my posting on the Kwanum Am, you might remember there were the phoenix on the ceiling

https://steemit.com/culture/@slowwalker/hidden-essence-of-the-kwanun-am-temple

Below are the phoenixes of the Kwanum Am

IMG_5596.JPG

IMG_5595.JPG

I could not find the differences between the phoenix and the wild geese.

There are so many symbols in Buddhism, because they thought that it is impossible to describe the truth with the words.
So they have used lots of metaphors to show the essence of the Buddha's teaching.

That's the reason why I thought there is a meaning of the wild geese.

The more I learn, the more questions come out.

beautiful, colourful photos of the temple interior, @slowwalker.

The prayer messengers are all winged, such as angels, phoenixes and geese.

The geese are migratory and leave their abode to follow the sun, so they are symbols of detachment.

Every picture in this post tells a story, my friend

Did not know that birds present there also bears such deep meaning..goods craftsmanship as well as intellectual..

thanks @chdeep

I love that symbolism for detachment.

yes, so do I - it's a beautiful image, @onethousandwords

You must be the best interpreter in the Steemit

a geese symbol, I know little about why there is a goose in the temple,...
geese as a symbol of tranquility, cleanliness and purity because according to the white fur,
goose symbol of wisdom in choosing this because geese if choose food although muddy then he choose that can be taken to eat, so do not take mud,...
geese symbols of high alertness, because geese have senses that know if there is a thief or intent to steal from a distant geese knowing it. and if any stranger enters the house there is often a goose rumble let alone in the night...

so that is the meaning of geese, goose is very useful and has its own symbols...., have a nice day @slowwalker

It could be.

it's real @slowwalker, the proof is a goose at night will be noisy if there are strangers coming, it's scientific .., geese have senses for it ..

Some of the art in the many temples in Korea is amazing. I just wish I had a better understanding of what the symbols meant.

Hope you have a wonderful Chuseok with your family and friends. Dont eat too much songpyeon

There is nothing I love more than to see other cultures architecture. It's so amazing how different societies choose to build structures so differently to others. I have always found Buddhist buildings to be so wonderful in colour and style. I've followed you so that I may see more. All the best.

Can I say ... Just amazing!

This is a secret place ... where every thing has its own meaning. Where each step is meaningful and silent. For some reason, such a feeling from these photos.

The building is very beautiful brother @slowwalker, and each carved from this building must have its own meaning, ornaments and coloring this building looks like it is set up in such a way. If I may know how many years this building was founded @slowwalker?

As always the photos are super, and your way of wording things to teach us about what you are seeing is great my man.

I learn a lot about culture from your posts.

Thank you so much.
Your praise make me keep posting

Somehow the Steemit system dumped you off my list, I followed you long long ago, I had to refollow just now, part of the reason I keep missing your posts my friend.

It is certain that each symbol has a great meaning my friend, we never stop learning, wow!
You be great if you can get the meaning of the wild geese one day!

Buddha lives in my heart. And I live in Buddha's heart.

Are you Buddhist?

I think, yes, I am. Most of Buddhist principles are close for my soul.

Interesting, thanks for sharing;)

nice place and nice shoot
regards from indonesian

nice photo...

Beautiful photos, and what an amazing temple. I bet you could spend days in there just taking in all that detail.

There are so many symbols in Buddhism, because they thought that it is impossible to describe the truth with the words.

What an interesting contrast to Islam, where depicting things as images is forbidden, and there is such a focus on abstract pattern and the precision of language (which led to mathematics...)

And "In the beginning was the Word," from the New Testament Book of John.

It's fascinating that words versus pictures is such an enduring difference between the major faiths.

What an adventure! ☺ And thank you for sharing it to us all here. Color made the photos lively and beautifully taken. Resteemed.
