Looking around the temple and the traditional writing in brush

I have posted so much on the Buddhist temple, so many people asked me whether I am a Buddhist. But I am not a Buddhist. The reason I have posted on the temple was Religion in Korea was a Buddhisam for a long time.
Buddhism was deeply connected to building a nation and system in Korea more than 2000 years ago. Before Buddhism was accepted, the shamanism was a main religion in Korea. The reason why Buddhism in Korea is deeply influenced by primitive religion.

It was about 600 years ago when confucianism was accepted in Korea from china. From that time, Buddhism had lost their influence. So Buddhist temples are very important historical relics. To understand Korean culture, it is inevitable to study Buddhism in Korea.

This time I had visited Ma Gok Sa temple not far from my office. They told Sping season in the temple is really awesome. Any way I had spare time, so I decided to visit there.

It snowed when I visited. The road to the temple was very romantic.
I could enjoy Son behind the trees and mountains.

As walking over the small hill, there stood a small pavilion with snow. It was really awesome.

Passing the pavilion, the road was covered with snow and the streem was frozen. It was really cold.

While I was looking around the temple, I found the brush writings were very impressive. Especially the writings on the board were written in white color.

The style was very unique. It was simple and powerful. It seemed that people who had written those boards was a warrior.
So I took the pics of the writings.
Belows are my collection.

You could understand the differences between the writings.

What do you think about the traditional writings ?

Must of been a relaxing hike :)

I really like ancient asian writtings, temples and i'm very curious about eastern religions and misteries. Great post. I love it.

I feel the same way. I believe the older culture in the East are much more wise than given credit.

Orthodox Christian which is the original Christian practice is so different then Modern Christianity. Orthodox Christianity is also called Eastern Christianity and they believe that the Dao is the Father or "the Source" and not some all powerful entity.

I have to join my husband @HomeArtPictures, unfortunately I can not enjoy your post to the fullest, I get only half of them, my friend ... Nevertheless, I take the post with me on my wall;)

Great! Your pictures are very impressive! And I really did not know anything about Korean religion and not that Buddhism plays such a role there. I'm just familiar with Japanese culture. Your postings are really exciting. I'll follow you right away & click through your other posts! Fan! :-)

Thanks to this post I had to google buddhism because I felt curious about it, i'm gonna check yout other posts to see more about it. The pictures are absolutely gorgeous, snow makes everything prettier but that place must look wonderful either way. Well I have a question I hope you can answer, what are those writings about? I mean, are they a tradition or do they have a purpose?

Hello @slowwalker
I've heard a lot about Buddhism
You just open me up to more knowledge as this religion is not practice in my country.

These are some really great photos! :)

가을 분위기와 어울어진 절이 정말 멋지네요 :)

Veery beautiful! Do you happen to know what they mean?

Absolutely breathtaking pictures! I love the power exuded by old places and it really comes off great in the pictures you have taken.
The writing itself, meticulous, precise, it certain does look to have been written by people with the focus of warriors. The attention to detail, even where it seems random, is obvious and the brush strokes give off a steady feel.

Thank you very much for sharing this! Truly inspiring for me personally.
