Original Photography : "Adat Meulaot" (red-tradition of fishing) Fishermen and Traditional Market in Aceh - Part II

in culturevulture •  7 years ago  (edited)

Hi, dear steemiants. Here is a collection of pictures of fishermen recently returned from the sea and activities in traditional markets in Lhokseumawe, Aceh Province, Indonesia. Some time ago I've posted a similar thing, but this time with a fresher story and new visual content. This is an original work by me @fachrulreza.

Fishermen in Aceh have customary institutions led by "Panglima Laot". Panglima Laot is a person who has the authority to organize everything related to the activities of Aceh fishermen in catching fish in the sea and arrange everything related to the fishermen. Its role is very important in the life of fishermen in Aceh.

Look at here, these fishermen come home from the sea after days of being out to sea to collect fish. Fishing activities in Aceh we can see in the morning. Almost every morning their activities at this fish shelter are always interesting for the shoot.

The fishermen lowered the fish from the boats to be sold at traditional market

They carry thousands tons of fish to sell throughout the country, to meet the ever-increasing demands of the market. The catch is also marketed to traditional markets in this city. As we know, fish are marine animals that become a side dish to eat with rice, as a daily necessity.

Traditional traders who have gathered directly invaded, to bargain the price of fresh fish brought home by fishermen, for resale. This time I not only shoot to see the fishermen but also to buy and sell in traditional markets in Lhokseumawe, Aceh.

Activities in this traditional market are always crowded, especially when the fishermen come home with thousands tons of fish. Traders from the city's traditional markets rush to this place to find fresh fish for sale. this is an old thing, the way of buying and selling here is really very unique. this old traditional market has excellent people and traders. they are very friendly, very happy when I take pictures them.

The sunrise is a beautiful panorama as the ship brings the fish back from the ocean. The sunrise from the eastern horizon from the end of the waters of the Strait of Malaka. Ship fishing one by one parked neatly to lower fish catch. Sunrise becomes a bonus for me during take a pictures the life of fishermen and traditional market in the morning.
