Hello humans and other assorted denizens of Steemit! Public service announcement for those who follow me - you will note that I have resteemed a few posts from @r-bot in the past week, and I plan on resteeming posts by @humanbot in the future. @r-bot and @humanbot are me.

@r-bot is a shared account that I created with my friend @rougebot - we are both posting as @r-bot. @r-bot has a mission to upvote posts and comments that are great in content but undervalued, with special preference given toward newer Steemit authors still trying to get established.

@R-bot stands for Robot but it also stands for "Our-bot". Besides @rougebot and myself, there are also two secret agents out there scouring Steemit for undervalued posts and upvoting as @r-bot. Check the @r-bot upvote logs as they are published for lists of great new authors and undervalued content. If you want to delegate SP to @r-bot to help the mission, that would be wonderful! Currently SP delegation to @r-bot does not come with any reward except the knowledge you are helping out deserving new Steemit authors who create original content, and/or good commenters.

@humanbot

@humanbot has not started its mission yet but I have big plans there, stay tuned!

The base robot artwork used for both @r-bot and @humanbot is my own original art, drawn on a post-it note. Observe:

I used the Deep Dream Generator to add metal texture to my drawing and fiddled around with it in PhotoShop.

@carlgnash - Congratulations on ever-expanding innovation, and on the inclusion of comment writers in future bot curation. The following discussion between @aggroed and @jesta emphasizes @jesta's motivation as a developer to stimulate a more immediate exchange of ideas on Steemit in a way that traditional blogs aimed at readers rather than conversationalists have not encouraged. Thanks @sarahspeaks144! My long comment conversations with you sort of crystallized an awareness that had been growing in me of the need to encourage and support good thoughtful commenters like yourself. In a way, you had a hand in the creation of @r-bot :)

I believe strongly that Steemit is not a blogging platform, or at least, not just a blogging platform and we need to encourage good dialogue generators and participators as much as we need to encourage original content creators. I love @aggroed and have not run into @jesta, will check out the link. Cheers - Carl

@carlnash - As a "newbie" who did not begin to "Steem" until almost two months after account registration, I very much appreciate your mentorship and generous hand-holding through the mysteries and difficulties of navigating the platform. Despite my ire, I have not given up on Steemit and continue to hope that issues and vulnerabilities can be resolved. I also feel that it is very important to recognize the witnesses and developers for their tireless efforts. Steemit isn't perfect, but those who are working to perfect it are doing a magnificent job for which they are probably under-appreciated and rarely thanked.
