Curie Weekly Update (10th September to 17th September 2017) - Major Update Inside!

In spirit of Curie's transparency, we wish to use this weekly section as an ongoing development blog on our project to communicate our progress on top of the many casual exchanges happening in channel #curie.

Latest Updates

As Curie continues to add more support for various communities around the Steem network, its core curation activities will be focused solely on high quality content. Being a consistently good curator on Curie comes with a couple of perks. Firstly, there will be higher submission limits along with the ability to recommend any potential candidates to be curators. Secondly, all curators achieving a Curator Score (CS) of 200 and Approval Rating (AR) of 95% over the course of 6 months will earn a direct follow from @curie. Both CS and AR are part of our merit system to ensure quality submissions, as disapprovals will be heavily penalised. With the additional SP delegations that came in recently, we have expanded support to new communities around the network, both regional and interest-groups. Below is the list of communities under Curie's support:-

Curator Recommendation Programme

Only curators with CS >5 and AR >85 (i.e. the top tier) will be able to recommend new curators.
If the new curator can maintain a CS => 1 for 4 weeks, the recommender will receive a 200 Steem reward for each curator recommended. If the new curator can become a top curator, maintaining CS >5 and AR >85 for 4 consecutive weeks within the first 6 weeks, the recommender will receive a 750 Steem recommendation fee.
Poor recommendations will lead to disqualification for the recommender. If two new curators fails to maintain CS => 0.25 in any week within the first 4 weeks, the recommender will not be able to recommend new curators.
There's a limit of 3 new curator recommendations per week, all of whom will start off with 2 submissions per week.
The new curator recommended must be a bonafide and engaged member of the Steem community. (I.e. no sockpuppets, nepotism etc.)
Top curators may develop their own process for selection and mentoring, and can use #curie to solicit applications for curators. Once you'd like to recommend someone please post in #curie. Once the new curator is verified by a reviewer, they'll be added to the platform and required to maintain a minimum CS of 0.25.
Reviewers and curators with a direct follow can also recommend curators without needing to maintain a CS.
If a reviewer recommends a new curator, a different reviewer must review the submissions.

This is Curie's new addition to reward the most consistent curators. Being the highest level of reward any curators can achieve on Curie, this comes with a high performance requirement of Cumulative CS >200, AR >95 over 6 months. @alcibiades and @teofilex11 are the first curators to earn this reward.

The Top Curators list will dynamically change every other week depending on performance. Anybody will be able to rise up the ranks with consistent, quality curation. Inconsistent, low-quality curation will result in dropping out of Top curators list(or regular curation, if under-performance continues).

¿Can someone explain a lil bit better how all this about (CS) & (AR) above works?

I'm heading right away to the steemit chat #curie channel to find more info and try to decipher this by myself.
