Introduction

With the curating team charged with the responsibility of gathering quality posts which have satisfied the parameters for voting, taking down scammers, impersonators and doing general surveillance of the Nigerian sub community and the general steemit community at large, there is no room for laxity, partiality and mediocrity.
The curating team which comprises of veteran steemit leaders and veterans like @donkeypong, @hanshotfirst and @infovore, with a drive to putting smiles on the faces of the Nigerian people by giving them a hope of decent payouts as reward for hardworking authors.
The curating team tries to always maintain discipline, courtesy, professionalism and accountability in all dealings to provide a fair and safe environment for all.

General team report

Total number of posts curated weekly goes over a hundred different posts from numerous authors, with an average of $17 per curated post. The posts are screened for errors and undergo plagiarism check.
Individual curators are mandated not to post more than once daily to prevent gaming the system and power abuse.

Rules of curation

According to my earlier post, the conditions for curation were listed below.
- Post must be found in the #nigeria tag.
- Post must not be guilty of plagiarism.
- Post must not posses either @cheetah's or @steemcleaner's comment.
- Post must show creativity.
- Downloaded or borrowed pieces must be properly referenced.
- Post must be less than 24 hours old.
- An author can only be curated by the team once in 24 hours.

General warning

Image theft can occur from referenced images that were downloaded from copyrighted sources. Please authours are enjoined to use stocked images that are free to download from sites like shutterstock, pexels, and so many others, if you cannot confirm if the image is copyrighted or not.

Tip: Avoid wikipedia images as they are sometimes copyrighted.

Fraudulent agendas are not tolerated. Agendas like:
- HYIP (High Yield Investment Programs)
- Ponzi schemes
- Scamming
- Threats on fellow Nigerian community members's lives and safety
- Suspicious and malicious links
- Identity theft
- Cyber bullying
They are barbaric and the Nigerian community does not tolerate such. We condemn such activities and anyone caught within the Nigerian community trying to perpetuate scam will be dealt with.

If you catch any Nigerian doing such, please report to the Nigerian curation team ( @donkeypong, @hanshotfirst, @infovore, @ehiboss, @ogoowinner, @fisteganos, @gbenga, @destinysaid).

The blackbook report

This was created to give a list of offenders, action taken by the curation committee and the offender's reaction.
This week, we caught three offenders, one was impersonating an artist and he was caught by @sherlockholmes and dealt with. The issue got to our notice and since then he has been placed under close scrutiny by Nigerian curating team. He has since stopped impersonating and posting.
The second person was caught trying to promote a ponzi scheme on this community, he was warned to cease and desist and immediately heeded the warnings. Since then he has been posting random youtube videos.
The third person was trying to promote a fradulent HYIP scheme, he was warned to take the post down, he obliged and hours later put up another similar post under a different guise and did a lot of resteems to cover his track, he was caught, reported and flagged. He stopped posting such thrash and instead posts plagiarized and random materials that pose no threat.

For support

If you wish to support the Nigerian community curation team with more SP delegations, please contact @donkeypong on steemit.chat

Don't forget project Africa united

Like I explained in this post, the project by some noteable steemians like @dragonslayer109, @gavvet etc is designed to help curate ##### African posts by African authors and Nigeria just happens to be in Africa.
Two groups were created on steemit chat for it. One group(africa posts) for post promotion for African authors, while the other (africa united) for chat.
The groups are closed groups, meaning that they require approval from an administrator of the group to enter. The good news is If you are an African and you are on steemit.chat and you are yet to be added, please signify in the comment section of this post or simply message either of @ehiboss, @dragonslayer109 or @gavvet on steemit.chat and kindly request to be added.

Nice to see a budding Nigerian community on Steemit. Someone from Nigeria asked me on Facebook if Steemit works for Nigerians. I knew about SIN (Steemians in Nigeria) so I immediately responded. He didn't need much guidance after that because he had commented on one of my Steemit tutorials.

Some days ago, @ogoowinner was asking for a guide system to educate new Steemians joining the platform. I'm glad to announce that I have created the all in one Steemit guide containing tutorials on Steemit, Reward System, Steem and general advice for beginners. Anyone can use it to educate new members.

I would be glad if the new whatsapp group is given access to the complete guide. Thank @ehiboss for the nice post. I'm not a Nigerian but your community is great.

Thanks a lot, the guide will be very helpful

Glad to help. Love grim
