Awesome post and very well put, that is what I struggle the most with steemit. I have a really hard time finding content that I really want to read. And maybe if Curators were made more important than they are today we would get better content available.
Other thing that I think it is failing is that the design does not help. They should follow a more facebookesk aproach a less of a 9Gag one.
I am not a content producer. I need notifications on my comments. I need updates on the posts I liked or upvoted. I want a feed like facebook with the people I follow and the promoted content.
