Mixing has a lot of science, but more of art.

This process is characterized by being the moment where we balance our theme, be it frequencies, levels and the location of each sound in the mixer where we work each sound separately.

It's time that we started to be less technical and more creative when mixing, for example, if we used to apply a 50% on reverb in all the mixes as a template because it has always worked for you, so you always stay with that technique and do not change, many times this gives less originality to our themes, we have to seek to be original and very creative, comparing how a reverb of 50% is heard with one of 100% or up to 200% or with a very sharp equalization cutting many often but getting a unique and memorable tone.

Creativity is the production of an idea and the ability to create, to innovate, to generate new discoveries that come from our imagination. There are people who are creative as there are others they are not, but this does not prevent us from being able to find creativity since every human being is born with this quality we just have to stimulate it and put it into practice every day in our mixes, looking for ways to get that sound clear and professional that we want in our mixes.

This is a great tool when it comes to mixing since we can make better decisions about our work, intuition is not mental, nor a skill, nor should we confuse it with emotions and feelings, no, intuition is the first spark at the moment we are mixing, as when listening to our theme or any voice that we want to mix and apply the whole process, here we make the decision that we are going to use in our production since intuition is also knowledge, so we analyze and detail more our mix, this it leads us to a better decision making. The best way to use it more is: practice!

Vision is the ability to see beyond what is in our hands, that is, it means to visualize, to see with the eyes of the imagination, this is where we decide which effects, which equalization and which configuration you are going to use with only listen to the track or a new recording.

With only make the recording, already as a producer I imagine how the voice will sound with a couple of effects without even having them placed, this skill gives us more power over our production as we get more ideas and work more quickly our mix since they we know what sound we want to get.

This goes hand in hand with creativity, since it is the stimulus we feel when listening to a mix that makes us drive thoughts in the mind, arises spontaneously in us as an artist or as a producer, being inspired in a mix is the best moment in the production and we must take advantage of it since doing something with inspiration usually brings great results.

The inspiration does not appear by effort or will, everyone has his way of inspiring either inhaling air through the nose to fill the lungs or listening to music references, in short everyone has their ritual, so to speak, to get inspiration, Although every day let's not be inspired this does not stop us from mixing since we can work a mix normally and it could work but this would be a technical way to make a mix and not with more art and innovation.
