Most of us have probably encountered problems when it comes to dealing with some customer service reps--especially when we talk to one of them over the phone. One time, I was trying to get a simple issue resolved involving a cell phone I had, but each time I called the company's customer service line, I kept getting transferred to different departments and just being given the run-around.
This was very frustrating and even infuriating, but it never got any better, so I had to drop my phone service. Obviously, some customer service reps are not trained well enough to handle certain types of issues, so they just keep telling you the same things and transferring you to someone else. And some of their supervisors are most likely encouraging them to handle customers this way.
Not all customer service reps are incompetent, and some of them will even admit when they can't or don't know how to help you. But some of them will just pretend that they can help you but then will put you through 20 minutes of nothingness, and still leave you with an unresolved issue.
