Bewilderment

How not to be ashamed! You, so not timid,
You, in verse singing a new moon,
And the dryad, and the stinking trails, -
Scared of a little witch!

The eye of her amber,
These children's, too scarlet sponges,
Afraid of the spell of her crafty,
Did not you dare to drink a sizzling goblet?

Was scared of a fiery poison
Light eyes where only the spark can be seen?
Was frightened girls curly?
Oh, poet, you should be ashamed!
