As anyone familiar with music industry knows, there are the royalty payment systems enforced in most countries through government regulation. The reason for that is to ensure that musicians and artists are compensated for the use of their performances. Benefitting from these royalty regimes requires being the member of a recognised rights performance organisation. As the way to offset the costs associated with these payments to artists, the large online radio networks that broadcast music have monetized content using subscription systems, membership perks and the traditional broadcast advertising.
Cyber-FM challenges this model of online radio in some ways. #CyberFM #Investment #Cryptocurrency #DistributedLedger #RadioOnline #CYFM
Firstly, Cyber-FM Radio has been the leader for the past 10 years in providing listeners access to music that is not normally available on mainstream radio at no charge. Now, it's working with the Mainstream for the Underground (MFTU) to add a new system in which everyone are rewarded with the tokens for each song they listen to. MFTU uses the open-source online royalty payment model that functions worldwide through a distributed ledger blockchain system. To operate the globally while also negotiating varying government regulations, system uses a dual token ecosystem involving the CYFM token and MFTU token. All Both tokens are built on Ethereum blockchain, which can be used to create an universal payment system to enables royalties to be collected and paid throughout all countries.
CYFM token represents a regulatory compliant cryptocurrency for artists that so are currently registered locally in their home countries. It'll be used for payment to government regulation agencies worldwide. That means that CYFM tokens won't be totally decentralized as it will have to conform to regulatory requirement in many different countries. MFTU token is similar to CYFM, but it's architecturally decentralized and such as represents the only truly internationally way to be accepted, transparent, fair, legal and cryptographic performance rights royalty system for independent artists. Any artist can register with MFTU, have their music broadcast on Cyber-FM and then receive royalty payments in MFTU tokens in despite of individual membership to the performance rights organization in their home country. Fans and listeners can use either token in stores for merchandise, downloading songs, and tipping directly paid to the artist. That's so crazy and also wonderful.
Cyber-FM has an established record of bringing independent music to listeners and promotes artists through user outreach. This new plan with Mainstream for the Underground is so exciting. Because it provides the way of protecting artist's rights and payments in the world, while they maintain the current copyright registrations locally. In the same, it creates a way for artists who aren't officially registered to have the chance to have their music broadcast on Cyber-FM and be paid royalties through MFTU tokens. This means that the ecosystem can effectively function in the current context of government regulation for copyright and royalties while it also helps opening a new era of decentralised and global royalty payment processes.
