Evey bike has a story

Hello everyone

Every bike has a story, but mine has many. This bike has seen me grow up and i have seen him age, it has seen me fall, try hard, get stronger. Though we never left the city together, but we went many different places in the city. It was made by Assaak, an Iranian brand which doesn't produce bikes anymore, I don't if it still exist or not.

Let's just tell a short story...

Back to the time when i was in high school, our school held few extra classes in summer. I attended one of them that was related to chemistry. That was the first time that the idea of riding the bike for long distances came to my mind. Back then i was 16 and the school was 15 km far from my house. It was a long distance for me. So the next time i wanted to go to the class, i woke up early and got ready to cycle to the school. Got the bike and the backpack and left the house for school. Summer in Isfahan is usually hot. When i arrived at school i knew i have sweated a lot. So i asked a friend :"Have i sweated a lot? Is it obvious?"
And he answered :"No, not at all, it's like you have just took a shower!"
And that was the time that i realized it's not a good idea to put a bag on your back while cycling over long distances. So the next time i attached the backpack to the handlebar (i didn't have a rack back then) and problem was solved nearly completely.

Though as i grow up the meaning of "long distance" changed in my mind...

Oh-ow, I'm crossing Europe with a backpack on my back, full of electronics!

When it comes to electronics, their safety has a higher priority than your comfort... lol

Great topic!

(not my bike, have to scan the picture, mine had yellow mag wheels)

I remember riding my bmx bike 5 miles (16km round trip) each way to school everyday, starting in 3rd grade (8 years old). It seemed like a big deal at the time. (even if it only took 30 minutes) Nobody else in school did that, I only got more ambtious as I got older.

Then I got my first car at the age of 17, and it all went downhill from there.

(1987 Honda CRX si, damn I miss that car)

I started riding again 7 years ago in Shanghai, mostly to lose weight, and have stuck with it ever since.

Cycling (and driving) has given me many wonderful childhood memories, I had a few crashes, and thankfully I walked away every time.(from the car crashes too)

Thanks!

5 miles with a bmx is still cosidered long for me. I like bmx bikes, but their just not for me.

I like the car, fortunately (lol) i couldn't afford a car, so i still use the bike.
