Manchester NH, not England!!
Yesterday I unboxed my Amazon package that was patiently sitting there for a couple days while I smoked weed and slept:
It's a helmet, a lock, and that other thing is a waterproof case (for your cell phone or whatever essentials that you don't want to get wet).
I was excited to ride my new bike, and a few miles to the grocery store didn't seem like it would satisfy me.
But also I'll need to ease in to peak shape. As a vegan you feel like you can do anything. And you often can, but I've become like a tofurkey vegan lately. Like a chips and soda, smoke weed and melt some daiya cheez type of vegan. It's better than eating animals, but I'm not gonna be leading the Tour de France any time soon either.
So I figured a ride to Manchester, about 18 miles from Nashua (so 36 miles round-trip) seemed about right.
Plus I had already been there once when I flew in to the airport there so it's like "oh, Manchester, that will be neat to visit again".
Quaint little town it is:
When you go down the side streets I'm sure it's different, but the main downtown area is really cute.
The architecture here is beautiful to me, especially as I've gotten used to West coast cities.
Their City Hall is cute too:
Green Roof ftw. Although I don't like when politicians try to jump to the front of a new trend to make it seem like they're actually causing it.
They probably have various permits and zoning and building codes that restrict what other people can do on their roof, and then it's like "yup, first one guyz" πͺ luls
But I still like it.
I was considering getting something to eat but I wasn't super hungry and decided to just drink some Gatorade, and eat at home.
They roped me in with the "2 for $3" thing at the little store, so I drank two.
On the way home I passed a cute little church.
Maybe I'll stop in and worship one day. #YouNeverKnow
I like worship. We're all just trying to figure things out as best we can, y'know? So I don't think you need to subscribe to a religion to share in the celebration of it all, coming together with prayer and thought like that.
I stopped at Shaw's supermarket and bought bread and lettuce and tomato soup, and then fixed myself a meal when I got home.
Old habits die hard, but there will be way more smoothies and vegetables and less oily stoner meals now that I'm cycling.
I didn't feel fatigued at all, like not in a cardio way. But my legs felt like rubber for the last couple miles, and today my body feels like I definitely did something yesterday. I'll rest up.
@full-measure aahhhh! It looks soooo lovely there! Those pics really made me miss NY super super bad! I needa go back there and visit. The energy and vibes there is seriously one of a kind. I've never been to a place that can replace that NY vibe.
Love the helmet and love how u opened up the blog by saying "while I smoked weed and slept" haha. I think weed is a blessing however, I haven't smoked it in a long time because it would make me really lazy lol.

Finally! The fist installment of your biking adventures hha
For one I didn't know you were a Vegan?! The chips and soda diet sounds amazing lmao
Also, I really like what you said about worship and we're all trying to figure it out ya know. I feel like religion is just a way for all of us to come together in a positive way.
I never cared about whether or not someone had the same type of faith because I know that although we are different in someways, we are all trying to just live a good life and be good people. Well most of us anyway haha!

Ya first installment!! woot. We'll see where I go next lol, I'll probably keep posting them .. makes me feel like I accomplished something when I embed it into the blockchain xP
Yup vegan!!!
Ya with religion.... I feel like you don't have to throw out the baby with the bathwater, like you might not agree with everything a religion says but you can still appreciate the parts that are good and the community aspect.
To me spirituality is kind of like "feel" or "instinct" whereas science is like logic. Of course you want to lean on what you logically know, but we only know so much .. most of the decisions you make and probably all of the major ones have at least something to do with feel or intuition. Like you can't explain ABC why you married someone. So I think spirituality is kind of the same where it isn't at odds with science but guides us wherever we don't have those clear answers.

Yeah definitely keep posting them! I've found that I enjoy my hobbies way more when I know that I can earn something from doing what I enjoy! Even if not a lot of people support your content at first, I feel like your authenticity and passion will reach the community with time!
And yeah I like that explanation! I agree that so many of our decisions are made through one's emotions, feelings, and instincts. Seems very irrational when you think about it, but thats where good ole science and conscious thought comes in haha

36 mile round trip is pretty good for a beginner. I am not surprised your legs felt like jelly.
I have been commuting to work everyday for over a year, just over 20 miles and I am only now starting to find it easy.
Is it flat where you are or are there some climbs?
