2018 looks to be a promising year for André Greipel, with his 2nd Stage victory of the 20th Tour Down Under. Daryl Impey crossed the line in one-piece to keep his hand on the leader's jersey and win the race overall!
Lotto-Soudal's André Greipel sprinted to victory on both the first and last stages of the TDU, taking his total number of stage wins in the Australian racing event to a record tally of 18.
Greipel went over the line ahead of Mitchelton-Scott's Caleb Ewan and the Slovakian, Peter Sagan (who didn't really show his best this year).
Daryl Impey finished the race on the same time as Richie Porte, but having finished 2nd in 3 stages, he won the event on countback. It is his first general classification victory for 4 years, having won the Tour of Alberta in 2014.
Dimension Data's Nicholas Dlamini - a prominent face in the breakaways over the six stages - won the King of the Mountains jersey competition. Peter Sagan, as expected, won the sprint jersey classification ahead of Caleb Ewan and Elia Viviani respectively. Egan Bernal of Team Sky took the young rider jersey, and Bahrain-Merida finished with the least time so won the team classification.
