Chris Froome suffered a minor setback on Stage 12 of La Vuelta after crashing twice and losing time to his main rivals.
Froome suffered two crashes in a quick succession, losing contact with the group containing the main GC favourites. Despite trying with all his might to bridge back to the group, Froome lost 20 seconds to the likes of Esteban Chaves, Vincenzo Nibali and Fabio Aru.
Froome retains the red jersey, but his lead has been massively reduced over the past few stages to 59 seconds - ahead of Bahrain - Merida marquee Vincenzo Nibali.
Tomasz Marczynski of Lotto - Soudal took his second stage win of this year's tour after attacking from the breakaway. Omar Fraile came in second, and Jose Rojas came in third.
