Matteo Trentin wins sprint finish on Stage 13 of La Vuelta, as Chris Froome yet again retains his red jersey and overall lead in the general classification.

The Italian took the stage ahead of Gianni Moscon of Team Sky, winning his third stage of this year's race and Quick - Step's fifth. Froome, riding with bandages all over after crashing twice on the previous stage maintained his 59 second lead over Vincenzo Nibali and 2 minutes 13 seconds over ORICA - Scott man Esteban Chaves.

A relitively small breakaway formed at the start of the day, with big names such as the likes of Arnaud Courteille of FDJ, Thomas De Gendt of Lotto Soudal and Alessandro De Marchi of BMC (amongst others). A long effort came to nothing however, as in the last 10km a peleton propped up by Katusha - Alpecin, Trek -Segafredo, BORA, Quick-Step Floors and Aqua Blue Sport all pushing for victory quickly cut the lead down to nil.

A tricky run-in to the finish, featuring turns, roundabouts and an uphill section, gave us an entertaining final 5km with a lot of jostling at the front. Quick - Step, further showing their dominance this season, won the battle of the lead out trains and Matteo Trentin was able to breeze over in first position.
