HEARTINi's Cycling for STEEM #5: My 1st Time in Timberland all the way to Camp Sinai

in cycling •  7 years ago

Good day Steemians, Family and friends, today I'm gonna share with you my cycling adventure, but now we're going to this famous cycling spot in San Mateo, Rizal, this particular place earned its spot on biker's heart for its steep inclination that for the first timer would be hard even to just walk through it, but with me, yes, another torture haha so let's go and pedal our way to Timberland.

yes, that's me smiling at the camera, while I hide the fact that I'm breathing heavy due to the harsh climb I've just finished.

Okay, this ride has this accidental twist in its story, because usually bikers that go to Timberland, after reaching the top, all go back down and home, but what happened is what I'm going share to you.

Today my Bike brothers that tag along with is Dennis "Dencio" Garcia and Eric Sy Lorenzo, we are all from Valenzuela Philippines, so from home to Timberland it was approximately 28km, and arriving at its front door at 23km, a shot fired,

I just want to take this picture of the sun rising at us as we ride our bike at the foot of the mountains,

There reside this small coffee shop for all sorts of biker that are going to climb Timberland, and also there's stall where you can buy bike accessories, well for a famous place of biker this is a must haha

We take a short break there,
DSC_1640.jpg
and after our break, we're going to start climbing our way up to Timberland,
DSC_1642.jpg

I was mesmerized by its beauty, later I realized that behind its beauty there lies its hostility hahaha
DSC_1646.jpg
I have to admit, I stopped at least 5 times, to catch my breath as my bike brothers go ahead, I can't let myself drag them down, because I got here on my own decision so, I need to stand firm to that, but gosh, this place is a torture haha
DSC_1644.jpg

Slowly but surely, I pedal my way up there, catching up to them is no small task to accomplish, but I somehow manage it, haha

Here we are at the Timberland, the top, then there I was told, that was just the Wall 1, and both of them tried their best that I should go all the way to Wall 2 and 3, what?! inside my mind there's still more to go than just what we already accomplished,
15135803_10210623478241670_7252371490049839940_n.jpg
to cut the story short they managed to convince me to go with them to Wall 2 and 3, so we do, after eating breakfast, the only thing in my mind was those Walls are called "wall" because they have all these steep climbs in them, and Wall 2 and 3 is just as badass as the Wall 1 we just climbed haha

Even I was amazed that I actually pulled it off, and straight ride at that, they told me, "I was still hiding some strength in me to ride all the way" remembering that I was even dragged to go up here haha

So here's the twist, as we are up there at the Wall 3, they said we could go to Camp Sinai from there, and I was like telling them that I kind like to go back there some time soon from my story on my blog about Camp Sinai, so out of that enthusiasm born this evil plan to drag me all the way from the back door to Camp Sinai, and as I said, I really love to go back there, and they keep on saying, it's very near from there, so as my curiosity burst at its peak, we ride from Timberland tto Camp Sinai.

only to they told me, we need to go through this basic trail on the way, out of curiosity of being a first timer, I'd really love to jump into adventures like this, so "Let's go" I said,
15036545_10210623620685231_4032298361106707784_n.jpg
It was so much fun riding on Trails like this,
15055595_10210623483081791_5800698395689886979_n.jpg

All these bumps on the trail, the adrenaline rush I'm experiencing, being very cautious as to not accidentally slip on the way, It was fun, really, in my mind, it's the right decision,

As time passes, I felt "this is taking too much time, if Camp Sinai is near the Timberland,
DSC_1647.jpg
but I ignored that feeling because I'm having so much fun excitement,
DSC_1649.jpg

We got there after a rain the other day so it's normal to have encountered this muddy trails,
DSC_1650.jpg

DSC_1651.jpg
but who cares, I'll just wash my bike clean when we got back home,

At last, we finished the trail, my butt is kinda exhausted with all those bumpy rides we just had on that long trail,
DSC_1652.jpg
and I was expecting it was almost over, "are we there yet?" I asked, Dencio replied we're almost there after we go through pine trees here somewhere,

oooh pine tree, I was excited,
DSC_1653.jpg
and we arrived at the place where there are pine trees,
15109560_10210623482761783_1243035998317737452_n.jpg
look at the joy on my face, as I was being entertained by this scene I am witnessing,

14639700_10210623482281771_9124271867690753468_n.jpg
Then off we go again,

But now I really really have to ask again, "are we there yet?", "Almost there" Dencio replied with a smile on his face, then I realized, I was tricked, haha making me think that it's not far away from Timberland, but I didn't get mad or anything, because I will never know I could still make it here if I stopped at the top of Timberland, but still hahaha

We arrived at the entrance of BaseKamp a more advanced trail for an extreme biker,

15056430_10210623481041740_8380050929328116642_n.jpg

So now, they tell me, "now it's really near" haha yes, I remembered now the road we're riding, this is indeed near the Camp Sinai, and we're back at the base of the climb again,
DSC_1659.jpg
Yes, I just let them ride their heart out, climbing that steep road up ahead,
DSC_1660.jpg
I tried a little, but no, I really can't and I know it, haha, and as is I climb my way up, I saw them under the tree, on a bench, and joined them for a rest,

Almost there,
DSC_1662.jpg

And we're back again, at last, after that long adrenaline filled ride back in the trail, we're here at the Camp Sinai

15107489_10210623480441725_1607170935801109740_n.jpg

I'm just so happy coming back here, and experiencing all those trails, which is new to me,

You can literally see that I'm happy hahaha
15036471_10210623609844960_7191000115831557412_n.jpg
I was like a child that is brought at the amusement park haha

after all those bumpy rides, the only thing in my mind is, I wouldn't know that I could actually do it if from the start I didn't have the courage to do it,
DSC_1668.jpg
looking at mountains, I thank God for this safety He provides us in our journey,
DSC_1665.jpg
15135834_10210623609164943_7603391106742325996_n.jpg
time to go down now, after we are all well rested, we once again riding in reverse to Timberland, all the way to our home,

And we go all the way through the trail again, I was drained now,
DSC_1672.jpg
This is me trying to lay down a bit, then they call on me, saying it's dangerous to lie down after all those rides we did on the trail, woah, didn't know that, haha

Here we are again, but this time, we're going down, and it's easier to slide down than to crawl up haha
DSC_1674.jpg

While descending at wall 3, we stopped for a picture at this signage, a proof that we've been here at the wall 3 haha

15027870_10210623479121692_7769667809910890383_n.jpg

Before exiting the Timberland, we got curious as to what is on the other side of the road,
15179115_10210658821965241_1777855741981554818_n.jpg
and we found out that there is this Adventure Farm here hiding in the bushes hahaha

15181135_10210658823085269_8121702897714250869_n.jpg

And that is how we really enjoy our ride, my first time at Timberland all the way returning to Camp Sinai,
