Vuelta a Espana 2018 Winner Crowned

Stage Results and Overall Results

Stage 21 of the 2018 Vuelta a Espana was almost a victory lap for Simon Yates as the group rode 101km from Alcorcon to Madrid. Italian sprint champion Elia Viviani of Quick-Step Floors was able to win the bunch sprint at the line to take his third stage victory of this years Vuelta. But of course the big news is that Simon Yates was able to finish safely to claim his first ever Grand Tour win for team Michelton-Scott.

Peter Sagan again was prevelant in the group finishing second again in the sprint. This was his fourth second place in a stage for this years Vuelta and his sixth top three. Riders tried to make breaks during the stage but all were realed back to the main peloton. but it was not until the stage was complete that the Australian based Michelton-Scott team were able to celebrate Simon Yates' and their first tour victory.

Overall classification after stage Twenty-one

This was the big one and Simon Yates was well set up from yesterdays stage. Enric Mas and Miguel Angel Lopez were probably not sure they would be celebrating a few days ago, but finishing in the top three was a great achievement for both riders and their teams.

3. Miguel Angel Lopez (Col) Astana Pro Team at 2 minutes 04 seconds

With 19 posts in 21 days it has been pretty cool covering the Vuelta a Espana for 2018 in Steemit. Its pretty awesome to have the freedom to post whatever I really want without any controls over the contet. I have learn't a lot and have a fun time as well. It has been hard work committing to something like this but am pretty proud of the result.
