The Day My Life Changed & Cycling Became History ...

Back in 2016, having never cycled since our two kids were young, I was introduced to the "Over 55's Cycling Club" in Perth, Western Australia (managed to qualify at 74yo :-)

Most of the members rode lightweight road bikes, but having no knowledge of what bike to get, I bought what turned-out to be a heavy one, with wide tyres, and needed a lot of leg-power to make it move!

Regardless, I soon became very enthusiastic about cycling for pleasure around the beautiful Perth and the Swan River. I went from cycling for pleasure and exercise once a week, to three times weekly.

Before long, cycling became an essential part of my life, regardless of the weather, which ranges from low's of 2 - 3 Farenheight in winter, to high's of 35 - 40 in summer. And, on every ride, there's always a favourite coffee stop for socialising!

I began to develop some great friendships with my cycling mates.

In my next part of this story, I'll share some experiences when I failed to stay on my bike!!
