This is undoubtedly the most popular song in rock history. But interestingly some say this has satanic message in the lyrics, or playing the song backwards will reveal the hidden spells that sounds a lot like worshiping the Satan. But to me if there is any message, it is against Satan.
It talks about "A lady who was sure, all that glitters is gold; and she is buying a Stairway to heaven..."
It's nobody else, but the elite capitalist class. This lady thinks everything that glitters, must be gold. Or she just have an irresistible affection for anything that shines. Today we live in a lavishly materialistic society. Everything all the man does, are only for money. All for the sake of the free market society. But this very free market is leashed and driven and more importantly exploited by the one on only corporate billionaire class. There great vie over the global market and the its natural resources; hasn't only bring unfair, unethical or illogical distribution of global wealth and welfare; but brought in great connotation of suffering and resentment. All for the sake of a materialistic gain.
