It was 2007, and Dan Brown's book "The Da Vinci Code" was a best sellers.
Everyone thinks he has read it, and has quarreled with his neighbor by asserting that it was true, that Jesus had married, and that the Templars .... But that's not what I want to talk about.
Even I was fascinated by that story, I wanted to check with "tact" what it was, and so I decided to retrace the itinerary in the book. Already. I wanted to be "Robert Langdon" too, and I had my Sophie with me, a former crazy girl like me with whom I am still in contact. Because I am deeply convinced that two people who love each other can not then pretend anything when love ends. But this is another story yet.

MY TRIP

The route was rather simple.
The film begins at the Louvre, in the Grand Gallery where the Mona Lisa and the Virgin of the Rocks by Leonardo da Vinci are first admired. Then continue to the Church of Saint Sulpice located in the district of Saint Germain where passes the Rose Line, the first meridian in the world.
Then we went to London, to Temple Church, and to Westminsester, and then we flew to Edinburgh, to the Rosselyn chapel.
We would then have to return to the Louvre, to discover the last home of the Holy Grail under the inverted glass pyramid.
But clearly this last point cost another flight and we skipped it.

FIRST STEP: PARIS

Louvre.

In this museum begins the journey of Robert Langdon, after the corpse of Sauniere is found and where he will meet Sophie. Obviously we have seen both the Mona Lisa and the Virgin of the rocks, which in the film would be a message from Leonardo to the new Templars, to indicate the sacred feminine, the true Grail, which would not be the cup that collected the blood of Christ on the cross, but would indicate the lineage of Jesus, the Real Blood, Sang Real from which San Graal and then Holy Grail.

Saint Suplice

Saint-Sulpice is the second largest church in Paris after Notre-Dame, and is the headquarters of the Society of Priests of San Sulpizio. Inside is the Rosa line, which is nothing other than the Paris Meridian.
Unlike what is said in the book, much more simply in the year 1634, Louis XIII and Cardinal Richelieu established that the meridian of the Isle of Iron, the most western land of Europe, was to be the main meridian. And this meridian was also indicated in other places. Then the story decreed that of Greenwich as the one on which the world schedules will be based, with the peace of the French.

LONDON

n the book Robert and Sophie, after having been in Zurich, and by Teabing, a friend of the professor, they will head to London, to follow his directions.
Here the main place to visit is Temple Church, which I assure you is amazing.

So get to Kings Cross, store your luggage at the hotel, we immediately get going, the Holy Grail awaits us.
But no, it was a beer.
Oh well it was hot!
We leave immediately and here we are at Temple Church!

Temple Church is a medieval church located in the Temple district. Inside you will find the tombs of the Templars, who actually are there. Getting there is quite simple as you just need to take the yellow line or the District and get off at the "Temple" stop.

Do not go there by car because it is strictly forbidden to park.
I do not know if it's clear enough.

Once greeted by the Templars, which you can see on your left and right, we look for the tomb of Sir Isaac Newton, a member of the Priory of Sion.

Westminster Abbey is the most important Anglican place of worship in London, after St. Paul's Cathedral, and it is the place where the regents of Great Britain are crowned. In addition to Newton's tomb you can find those of Charles Darwin, Geoffrey Chaucer, Charles Dickens, and many others.

ROSSELYN CHAPEL

Because of poverty and lack of funds, we slept that night on the ground at the airport.
The next day we would have to go to Scotland, and just to see Rosselyn's church. Yes, because we had no more budget.
In addition, my camera was dead, and the cell phones did not make them, at least ours. In reality, the machine survived only for the last photo, the one you see above, and then again blew.
As soon as we landed, early in the morning, we immediately went to the chapel. We did not even go through Edinburgh, we would have liked to see another time calmly.
In this chapel Robert and Sophie actually discover that the Holy Grail is a person, the direct descendant of the lineage of Jesus and Mary Magdalene. And that person is Sophie herself.

The chapel is truly exceptional and contains many legends. Built a hundred years after the end of the Templars, some scholars argue that it is the place where the Holy Grail was kept, which is said to have been hidden in the apprentice column.
With this last stage, the most beautiful perhaps, our trip ended.
The same evening we returned to the airport to catch the flight that brought us back to Rome.
I have not seen Edinburgh yet.
And yet I did not understand if the Holy Grail was a legend or not.
The fact is that the trip was one of the most beautiful I've done, so whether it is legend or not, traveling to reality in places where you first traveled with the imagination is an experience not to be missed.
