Here' what we know about DACA

DACA kids are constantly asking "What is wrong with us being here?"  "What are we taking from you?"

Here are a few answers:

The net cost of immigration to the American Taxpayer is 116 Billion a year.  This is the 2016 number given by Numbers USA after factoring in; education, medical, housing, and other government benefits used and weighed that against all of the proceeds paid in via taxes.

Many Americans believe that the seats being taken in the Universities by illegals should go to American kids.  You won't want to hear this part but I know of several people who tried to apply for tuition & food stamps and were told to their face that they could qualify for this because they aren't hispanic.  This breeds resentment in people who vote.

Hispanics who fled Mexico because of violence, poverty & want of education come here and vote for policies that would create more violence, poverty & less education.  All you have to do is look at the condition of California right now.  Everyone who can afford to flee is fleeing.  People who can't afford to flee are becoming homeless.

This country has a HUGE immigrant problem that can not be fixed.  Our only option now is to turn to the laws already on the books and start deporting people who shouldn't be here.  This was driven home to me a weekend about 2 months ago.  There was a pay per view fight on TV of 2 hispanic fighters that caused a bunch of house parties to erupt.  At 10pm the fight was over and people started driving home.  There were so many drunk driving accidents that night that police said they hadn't seen numbers like that in over 30 years.  I'm in Houston and traffic was so bad it took my neighbor 8 hours to make a 45 minute trip from the airport.  He was stopped by 5 really bad accidents and everyone of them had a Mexican person who was too drunk to stand up.  He was 5 minutes from home when he and a cop hit a patch of oil from an earlier accident and collided.  He had to have his shoulder surgically repaired.

Estimates are that we have somewhere between 30 to 40 million illegals in this country.  Some have been here for 20 years.  If you are somewhere you want to live and haven't become legal in 20 years then obviously you didn't want to be there as bad as you say.  I can not think of a single excuse for why someone couldn't become legal in 20 years.  That is more than enough time to save up for and pay a lawyer.

I tried to find the Executive order for DACA.  I couldn't find one.  The Wikipedia page said Janet Napolitano wrote a memo directing Homeland Security not to deport people who were brought here as children.  If this is the case then there never was a DACA law, there never were any real protections.  There was an administration that decided not to enforce immigration law.  That administration did a lot of things it shouldn't have and now the laws are going to be followed.
