Dad Tip of the Day: Kids love toys but as parents, part of our job is to help our children enjoy their toys in the best way possible.

If you are like me, you like to spoil your kids when you can. I like to make them happy and find new toys to be a good way to bring happiness to my kids. However, over the years, one things I have noticed is that too many toys is not a good thing. If there are too many toys around, some do not get played with and it often causes chaos as the child is bouncing from one thing to the next without actually “playing” with any particular toy.

Also, toys are meant to be played with your children and the younger they are, the more the parents need to be involved in the playing directly. Kids learn and grow as they play with their parents, and as they grow older, they can start to play more independently or with other people.

I found a good article online that discusses kids and toys:

https://www.todaysparent.com/family/parenting/how-many-toys-do-kids-really-need/

I like the fact that the article focuses on fewer toys and more specific play as that is key to having the kids enjoy their toys, as opposed to just having a mess and not really playing. It is also a good reminder that creative play goes a long way towards their development, so don’t be afraid to pull out the crayons and white paper to encourage this creativity.

Here is my daughter pushing around a play cat on a leash as we pretend she is walking the cat:

So play with your kids in a strategic way and remember that more toys is not always better!

Hello Brian how are you doing

I am doing well... how about yourself?

Pretty good I'm currently earning more steem power.

Thanks for sharing @Brian.rrr ! We definitely believe in less is more, when it comes to toys. Not too sure about the invention of tablets for kids though :)
