Today's update bring some new things as well as further elaborates on some other which you can find on: https://dagamers.xyz/
AFK streamers
Not all streamers are as active as others and that’s fine. It makes total sense that your stream is your priority. However, when you’ve never shown any proof of life and just farm rewards that becomes an issue. At that point you’re actively farming rewards which means there is less in the pool for the other players.
To tackle this the next changes are implemented
- When you haven’t logged in the last 7 days the beneficiary rewards taken by Dagamers is 1% more for each day that you’re not active
- Viewer drops are disabled for your stream
These changes are the start of attempts to monitor streamer engagement. Judging a stream by its content is difficult since quality is subjective. Further is the blockchain not optimised for video content let alone live streams. The next best thing that we can do is judge streamers by their willingness to engage with the platform and this is a good first step in that.
Discord
Dagamers is growing and to keep a clear overview of all the feedback we need to add some separate channels and groups in Discord. To keep a clear overview we’ve gone back to our old Discord: https://discord.com/invite/pExUgVBs2E. Vimm’s discord is still monitored but the majority of the conversations will happen on our own discord from now on.
Gear up by streaming and watching streams
The latest version of Dagamers introduced the Explorer’s Stash. Here, you can open chests you’ve claimed to receive a piece of gear in return and equip it. While there is currently no additional functionality, this feature will serve as the foundation for more gamification and monetization options in the future.
You’ll notice that all items currently share the same name, and their attributes are completely random. For example, you might find a sword that provides defense and magic defense or armor with high attack roles. These aspects definitely need tweaking, and who better to help us with that than the gaming community.
Drops Enabled and reward chests
Whenever you stream, you can claim a chest from the Dagamers’ website. These chests can be opened in the Explorer’s Stash. However, you can also find chests by watching streams.
When watching a stream that has “drops enabled,” you’ll have a chance to receive drops if you’re watching the stream on dagamer’s platform. Additionally, viewer rewards provide you with guaranteed DGS, which will rocket fuel your earnings.
To have drops enabled on your stream, you must:
- Have your stream posted on Hive
- Be an ACTIVE streamer
Streamer chests or viewer chests (with DGS) cannot drop while you still have unclaimed rewards.
Dagashards and Dagamium
Today’s update introduces Dagashards or DGS and Dagamium or DGM.
Dagamium: Valuable currency which gives you a claim on part of the riches
Dagashards: Most common currency, rewarded to viewers and streams that got viewers
Dagamium
Whenever a Dagamers account holds an additional 100 staked HBD, a total of 50 DGM will be distributed to all DGS holders, and another 50 DGM will be set aside.
Your DGS will be burned, and the amount of DGM you receive depends on the number of DGS you burn relative to the total DGS pool of all ACTIVE users. Any leftover DGS will be returned to you.
Each month, when the staked HBD rewards are claimed, 50% of these rewards are distributed to all ACTIVE users holding DGM.
The 50 DGM that’s kept aside will be used in the future to reward additional game mechanics which involve the Explorer’s Stash. In the meanwhile the HBD rewards held by Dagamers will be added back to the staked pool.
Dagashards
DGS will be the common currency awarded to users. At this moment there are only two ways to receive DGS:
- When you claim a drop from watching a streamer on dagamers
- When someone claimed a drop from watching your stream (20% of the amount the viewer gets)
Note that as a streamer you won’t get any DGS while your viewer has claimed their chest.
