1800 made accounts in our @steemhunt pool, even with 1.62 million SP that means that we can make around 68 accounts a day, even so — 1800 is a nice pool of resources to go at to onboard some users (thanks @tabris for the data)
Can you feel that? It’s called readiness, just this morning one of the steem apps that I moderate on has deployed steem account signup into the site after the roll out of hf20 — admittedly, they have only a limited number of accounts but in what feels like the first time that means an outsider (non steemian) can get setup straight away on the platform — and that’s huge.

readiness, the chain is mobilising.
That’s what I believe the steem blockchain is going through right now even thou a lot of the crypto universe is bouncing around through volatility here, people are just getting on with it — the older steemians are banding together, building things out, testing new things, creating better engagement and outreach, deploying new things — it’s literally a HIVEMIND of activity and that’s crucial for the STORY part of why people want and need this chain so much.
That goes WAY past just putting a site together and a campaign to raise an ICO, this is technology that exists already, is deployed and working that has a strong, active membership of people who have come from other centralised platforms and made a home here — I really enjoyed a @taskmaster4450 post this morning (https://steemit.com/busy/@taskmaster4450/why-i-bought-and-powered-up-886-steem) about his powering up and the coming together of the community to get listed on net coins (btw, do it daily, let’s go!)
In the post he mentioned about a number of accounts and people who are ‘actively’ engaging in amplification and retention of users for this platform — that speaks volumes to me of the intention of the users to want this to succeed. Of course, sure, it would be nice to have steem in the top 10 cryptos but I think it speaks more volume than that about the technology and the people that flock around and have stayed for years already through thick and thin.
remember this is battle hardened blockchain that’s been running for well over two years already, had twenty hard forks and people are still here and more than ever determined for it’s success and acknowledgement of where it could be in a years time, the time to get onboard is now while you can, it’s a non brainer investment of time and money if you ask me (I’ve been here 2 years)
being a mod on @steemhunt has really opened my eyes on a micro level about how a potential future SMT can work and we are literally only six months away from the first deployment for that, that’s gonna be incredible I have no doubt and it will really put the steem blockchain on the digital world map.
I already know that cheddur app has written a white paper and will be deploying an SMT based on it’s technology — that’s a huge thumbs up from a company that I have no doubt with get it’s seed funding based on it’s team behind it, they really want to bring about intelligence and help to the crypto world.
Also, you only have to look at http://token.steemhunt.com to see the grand vision that @steemhunt has, this is what has excited me from the start — the design, the styling, the intention, the end result, these three web apps alone could be a real gateway in and deploying an SMT on proven technology is a non brainer for a dedicated crew of creatives — I’m excited to see where this goes.
So today is a day of celebration and later on today me and @dayleeo will be doing another podcast (our 6th? Maybe) over on @productsense, a little podcast about life as steemhunt mods and we will be talking about this roll out and just steem blockchain in general, I hope you’ll take a listen maybe tomorrow when it’s published (we wanna do them live but we are not there yet)
On a lot of the projects that run on top of the steem blockchain start to offer account signup then we will (I think) see an influx of existing centralised users (one site, one account) people come into the platform and be surprised at what they find — that’s opportunity for all of us to help them along, support them and empower them on their blockchain journey in the hope of retention and scaling of our userbase.
I know this, a lot of people are pulling together right now and combined it’s quite the force of nature to have this many people putting together projects that can enable different avenues into the chain and that is good for everyone — more momentum, more exposure and more social sharing, often times the life force of activity in this fast moving world.
