Dear @DtubeDaily on @Dtube #125 // wordpress has a 30% CMS share in the world i’m presuming that will start to drop fast the more blockchain platforms appear.

so yesterday I went on a general re-ordering of all things websites — what stuff is gonna stay and what stuff is gonna go, what am I gonna get rid of and what am I gonna keep and work on. I kinda go through this every year and I’m not sure why I keep doing it to myself if I’m honest. I’m getting to the point where I literally just want stable endpoints for things to go and the cost to be cheap instead of getting won over by the media hype and ‘choices’ of super fast ssd drives and CDN this and that. It all just becomes so ALPHA and ANAL at the same time after a while.

I’m looking for a life of uncomplicated hosting, speed and reliability, maybe I’m asking too much still in 2018 and that automatically for some reason is tied to expense still — dunno, working through it, needs to be something I come to terms with.

Lots of changes are ahead on the internet when it comes to blogging, linking, even having an opinion or a voice — I truly believe that decentralised methods of blogging are the future thou, I’m not sure ‘wordpress’ is in that future, maybe if they launch a token of some sort then maybe that will keep them in the game for a little while longer but the notion of centralised ‘hosts’ where you put your Wordpress installation ‘managed’ or not seem pretty much a dying thing to me.

I mean, sure I’ll keep some of the sites on life support for another year but I just don’t enjoy the platform and all it’s updates, vulnerabilities, plugs and holes especially as script kiddies have more access to drive by tools to compromise, break and frustrate, just better off removing the frustration eh and use planets that you trust to be at the cutting edge of zero day issues, better in the long run — minimise your surface, maximise your decentralised surface area across more location, seems the better option in 2018 and beyond.
