애니메이션 영화 후기 < 너의 이름은> / animated movie review <your name>

제가 가장 좋아하는 영화 장르는 애니메이션이에요! 어려서부터 상상하면서 많은 시간을 보냈었거든요. 그래서 그런지 그런 생각을 하나의 장면으로 이끌어 내는 애니메이션을 늘 좋아했답니다!

My favorite movie genre is ANIMATED MOVIE. I’ve spent lots of time imagining and visualizing things that don’t happen in reality since I was a kid. I might be into animated movie because it surely ANIMATES a piece of thoughts into a scene.

2016년에 처음 개봉한 <너의 이름은>은, 2017년 한 해 동안 아주 많은 사랑을 받았지요. 많은 사람들이 영화관에서 OST를 따라 불렀다는 이야기도 유명했고요.

Japanese movie [your name] was released in 2016. Many moviegoers really loved it, and the anecdote that people sang along together in the theater is so famous.

특히나 기묘하고 아름다운 색감은 이 영화를 상징하는 것들 중 가장 대표적인 요소라는 생각도 들어요. 천체와 우주, 시간과 거리에 관한 이야기인 만큼 하늘의 여러 표정을 담고 있죠.

I’m sure its brilliant and colorful expression is one of the representative factors for this movie. As long as it covers celestial bodies, the universe, time and distance, the movie shows us various landscapes.

간략한 줄거리는 다음과 같습니다. 모르는 사람과 몸이 바뀌기 시작한 소녀와 소년. 불규칙적인 전환은 서로에 대한 호기심이 되었고, 어느덧 그들은 둘만의 연결고리를 갖게 되지요. 그러던 어느 날 갑자기 사라진 소녀. 그 소녀의 소식이 궁금한 소년은 그녀를 찾기 위해 나서기 시작했고, 그녀가 행성 충돌로 인해 사라진 마을에 살았다는 것을 알게 됩니다.

The brief story is below;

Suddenly a boy and a girl found their body changed(exchanged). The one extraordinary thing was they didn’t know each other. Irregular change became the curiosity one another, they got to have sense of connection.

One day, the girl disappeared. As the boy wondered how she was, he became to know she lived in a village, collapsed after collision of asteroids.

감독 신카이 마코토의 전작을 보면 보통 개인의 이야기와 서사에 중심을 두고 있다는 것을 알 수 있습니다. 관계를 드러내지만 그 관계 또한 한 개인이 바라보는 관점이었지요. 이번 <너의 이름은>에서는 너와 나를 넘어서 처음으로 ‘우리’에 대한 이야기를 담고 있다는 생각이 들었어요. 소년이 소녀의 생사에 ‘간섭’을 하게 되면서 개인의 경계가 허물어진 것이니까요.

Through his previous works, I thought the director Shinkai Makoto usually puts the importance to personal narrative. Of course sometimes he reveals the relationship between figures, but it is just about one’s point of view. On this movie [Your name], it seems first time to talk about ‘our story’ over solely mine and yours. As he being involved in her destiny, their boundaries got faded away.

이름도, 얼굴도, 어떤 기억도 없는 사람에 대해 걱정 하고, 운명을 바꾸기 위해 필사적인 주인공을 보면서 두 주인공이 의도치 않게 쌓아 온 탄탄한 관계와 인연에 대해 생각해 보게 됩니다.

I could ponder over their firm relationship and connection the two had made without any intention as watching him make desperate efforts in order to change her destiny. For only one whose name, face, and any memory all he never knew.

사실 <너의 이름은>에서 나타나는 재앙은 동일본 대지진을 경험한 세대로서의 염원이지 않은가 하는 생각도 들어요. 문물의 발달과 지식 산업으로 많은 것을 예측할 수 있게 되었더라도, 결국 자연재해 앞에서는 아무것도 아니게 되니까요.

Actually I thought the disaster in the movie can mean a wish as a generation who experienced the Great East Japan earthquake. Although modern society can expect a lot of things with civilization and up-to-date technique, we all have no meaning in front of natural disaster.

시간을 돌릴 수만 있다면, 그 자리에 사람들이 살지 않고 있었다면, 조금만 더 예측할 수 있었다면, 내가 그 말을 해줄 수만 있다면. 많은 가정과 후회와 생각이 오가던 중, 신카이 마코토는 그 이야기를 영화에 담아냅니다.

If I can make time back, If there were no one to live there, If we can expect and foresee more, If I can tell them the news. A lot of supposition, imagination, and regrets ultimately makes this movie, I think.
