Hey y'all, it's Friday and I'm alive!
Nothing fancy today, I just nabbed a pic of the chickens all sitting up waiting for food and water this morning.
Headed out to run some extremely light errands with Melissa this morning, I noticed people with the nerve to chip wood in the field directly across from our home.
You bet your bottom I hobbled my tender tenders over there an asked em to drop the chips in my yard. They're calling me in an hour or two, and I think they actually will this time. They're chipping a lot of oak today. Branches, leaves, and all, the perfect mix! They said their dump place is half an hour away,.so being close would work well for them. I explained that they can drop as much as they can make and they said they usually make two trucks a day. If I got two trucks, I'd be hard pressed to be more excited.
Still not being very active, as I'm a bit sore, but staying on top of pain meds and hopefully I'll be good to do some planting, but no promises. Definitely not gonna overdo it today, but I think I'm on track to get er done tomorrow.
Man, what a treat it would be to get a big load of wood chips while I'm recovering. Definitely saying some prayers for that. Also, we may head to the farmers market this evening. May. That sounds like a lot though.

I will, for sure! This is an ongoing quest in my carbonaceous banditry. Hoping to get back in the swing of my leaf thievery on Monday. If I could have enough wood chips, that would propel every project nearly to completion.

Yay free woodchips!! There are SO many uses for those!
Last time our electric company came through trimming trees, I asked them to drop their trimmings in our yard. They did and I had an abundance of free goat food! Gotta love it! ♥

I'm becoming quite disillusioned with that model. Ive stopped by four crews, all of whom said they'd stop by, and none of whom did. I've also called three companies to no avail.
Monday's leaf harvest looks promising though, so we'll be settling for leaf mulch it looks like. Not really a settle, as leaf mulch is incredibly effective in it's own right. I'm upping my leaf goal (again) from 120 to 150 bags. Don't tell my wife...
Not giving up on the chips though.
