In Asian countries like Japan, Korea, Taiwan and Hong Kong, it is very hot in summer. Therefore there are lots of shops serving a wide variety of cold drinks. For example, pearl milk tea has been a signature drink that also available in western countries.
However, in this summer, the most popular type is fruit juice. To make it more chewy, the trend is to mix with more and more pulp and peel. Being served in a very tall cup that I have to say it is a super grande, it is a definite cooler in hot summer.
Waiting time for this drink is usually as long as 30 minutes. This could be a strategy of the shops recently that purposely make a long queue outside the shop. Compared with Starbucks, this long queue strategy could be a new kind of see and be seen. People may enjoy the waiting and the non-stop selfie all along the street. What a good marketing idea.
