hi y'all I'm back.
Why should that interest anybody? It shouldn't. It's the first post that I write in a long series of posts.
After leaving Steem for a couple of months I will now fully commit to write something every day. Not for financial reasons but to hone my skills in writing, getting better and faster and to order my thoughts in a friendly manner.
Keep in mind, this post is not really for you. It's a way for me to just write. Not doing much finetuning - just write with a hearts content
What happend with me
As nobody knows except a few that actually know me my life is in shambles and I have no clear path for the future. Exciting but terrifying at the same time. The struggle for money got real.
I was studying for a couple of years. Economics at first and afterwards mechanical engineering which I must admit is still something I'd really like to do in the future but not in an academic way but in a Maker engagement. making prototypes with 3D printing, toying with single board computers and other stuff that is just awesome.
Now I quit my Study for good. And big surprise I'l found a company in Switzerland in a sector that I have not really much knowledge about. IT.
Why would I do that? Madness? desperation?
Well yes, all of the above but also the pressure that I did not produce anything of worth so far was just nagging me constantly. So why not make it even crazier for myself and jump in the cold water without a safety net.
The company is going to be called Block Lab GmbH and is founded in Switzerland. Yes, the same standard name that people might associate with Blockchain companies all around the world is actually what I set my mind to. You hate it? Who gives a damn.
That's one reason why I'm kinda financially broke atm. The other one is definitely studying without proper work. I did some websites, Wordpress craptastic that are in my believe garbage on the internet but that didn't provide enough income for living in Switzerland. Kinda expensive here.
back to the company - which might actually be kind of interesting.
First of all - Yes I'd like to get involved with blockchain DApp production but it is not my main concern at the beginning.
I want to operate Serverless infrastructure with AWS -which I'm doing my certificates at the moment. Well the first out of 5 or something like that. The best part about it?
I learn new stuff that is interesting me which is funny cause that's what I was looking for in my regular study but did not really encounter.
Imagine I did social science and economy for 2 years. and hellish boring lectures just never gave me any excitement about the work I could look forward to in the future in said sector. Then you read a book about our society (social science stuff) from 50 years ago and the motivation was back. But not for the study but the core principles that underly every academic topic. An interest of how things work - and can be improved.
code as superpower
I was always curious about coding and had always the feeling that it was beyond my scope - my abilities. But hell no. Coding is a skill that everybody could learn and when you find new exiting stuff ( for me that's basically design and datamanagement) you feel a rush of dopamine.
Someone once said: The new guy in tech is always looking for magic.
well that's so true - but do we find the magic we are looking for? not really
we find stuff that people built. like everything you find on the internet - everything was built at some point and will be improved at another. And my conclusion is that with knowing what was and realising what's to come - that's the magic.
The vast space of nothingness that exists all around us and we can make something happen without leaving the computer. Change the world by sitting and typing stuff. kind of amazing and stupid at the same time because everything takes a lot of time and effort unless somebody did it before.
I think that was the worst example I could come up with on the spot do demonstrate why I'll use AWS. because It's nothing new that I will be doing. It's just using what other came up with and not much else.
I'd argue that I'll do this because I can. Something even I can apply even though I don't know anything about real code writers that fight daily with JS C++ or whatever.
In conclusion: this post is garbage - I enjoyed it - and somebody will be reading it sometime in the future an go:
That was a huge waste of my time
