Hell0 Steemit users and nature buffs. Today's daily nature tidbit exhibits one of my all-time favorite photographs that has gone through the lens of our camera. As much as I'd like to take credit for this one, it was my fiancé Kylene that snapped the photo. (Shared with her permission, of course.) This image also comes from one of our trips to Yellowstone. We were checking out some hot springs along Firehole River, when I spotted a hawk circling over head at about 30ft. Suddenly, it dove out of the sky and into the water. I yelled "Ky, get it! Get it!" By the time she turned and raised the camera up to her eye, the raptor was heading towards the sky again with a fish in it's talons. She snapped about 8 or 10 photos, almost all of them were motion blurred beyond use, but luckily this one made it out A-Okay:
I wish I could tell you what kind of hawk it was, but the park has some 10 species that call it home. It all happened so quick. I believe the fish was some sort of trout, but it's also stated without complete certainty. What I CAN tell you is that this is one of the few photos we've printed and now adorns our wall. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
Thank you for reading and have a great night. - Adam
