I wasn't expecting this but Dan is back!
I'm sure everyone knows by now, but I think it's great and a very positive sign!
Now maybe Dan is free to write whatever he wishes with zero backlash?
Anyway Dan, I just wanted to let you know, I'm glad you're back on here writing.
by the way, I found the GIF above by typing in the word, 'complex' in the search box.
ps- I wish a different whale besides Ned had flagged Dan's last article.......that seemed a bit odd.....
I am personally glad to see him back. As I mentioned in a comment below, hopefully he loves the community so much that he couldn't stay away. I'm hoping for a fun, relaxed, geeked out Dan :)

yeah, me too. If it turned out to be the case that the creator of steemit didn't feel comfortable or at ease being himself blogging on the platform he created, that would kind of suck!

The post is here:

And the flagging:

Yep, though it's kind of sad to see Ned flagging his post as the most powerful vote. That is a bit disconcerting, especially since the post didn't bash steem/steemit in any way.

Yeah, good ol' Murphy's Law once again reminding us not to be complacent and pretend it doesn't exist. :)

We all get flagged on a daily basis to balance rewards. Why make an exception with Dan? ;)

That wasn't how this was done. We get flagged to balance out the whales. Those flags existed too. It tends to sort the votes in the drop down by order of power. The -ned was at the top of the list, meaning it was more powerful than the other votes. There were also the typical smooth, and others that are trying to balance things. Perhaps he was balancing out Dan's vote, but the dantheman account would have been balanced by smooth and company. If the dan account voted though then perhaps that one would need a ned vote, but not necessarily at the top of the list, and I didn't actually see the dan vote, just dantheman he posted as.
steemwhales.com is a good place to see their respective power.

Dan used both of his accounts to upvote the article. Ned downvoted after Dan using his second account, so it very much looks like as if he just wanted to balance that. The article is top 10 trending right now, so nothing to complain about though :)

Well if he used both of his accounts that is likely why ned downvoted. Thanks for clarifying that.

This seems like childish steem-wars amongst power players - Dan upvoting his own article twice under different accounts more disconcerting than anything.

Hi @stellabelle, do you mean that Dan is back writing on steemit.com or that Dan is back working at Steemit Inc.?
It would be great if you could clarify!
Thank you for the heads up!

From the looks @ebryans I'm hoping that Dan loves the community so much that he's back to posting and playing with us. I think his resignation from Steemit Inc is pretty solid. But I don't know for certain. I'm just glad to see him back. :)

Even if it is just to post and engage, it is a very healthy and positive sign, I agree wholeheartedly, @merej99. Thanks for your reply!
Nobody should ever be irreplaceable and I hope that there is a back-up plan even now for Ned! Risk management is an often neglected aspect of business.
Having Dan just present to the platform will provide a sense of security which many might have found challenging. Namaste. Hope you have had a great weekend.
