It's a new milestone for me. I've finally surpassed 5000 followers on Steem. In addition I'm in the very exclusive group of bloggers who have more followers than posts. This indicates my post frequency over my time on Steemit has been low. The follower metric is a good metric because it shows at least assuming every blogger is unique that my blog is growing along with Steemit.
I'd like to thank each and every one of my followers for the support. Consider this post a thank you note.
Wow Nice! I Love this :)
Especially the post/Followers number. That sounds crazy weird that you haven't posted as much. My numbers have always been reversed.
Congratulations :)

I tried posting more frequently but got some blowback as they said I was draining the reward pool. So now I post a bit less frequently for now. When SMTs or some other better system comes out then I'll be encouraged to post more frequently.
I try to keep my post quality high enough that I'm keeping my post to follower ratio in the positive range. I blogged about that ratio and how to calculate it:
As far as I know I'm the first person to introduce this specific metric. I do not know if this particular metric symbolizes post quality by itself because there could be bots following me but I would say it looks better at least. Then again I don't have a lot of Steem Power earned or a lot of followers compared to some others so I'm obviously doing some stuff wrong.

You too. I remember when you were trying to get to 1000 followers and now you've reached that milestone. I see you having more followers than me in the long run if you set your ambitions toward it.

Oh no)) My content can not be even comparable with yours, I discuss much simpler topics in my posts so I can`t have more followers than you) But in any case, thank you for warm words, I wish you all the very best on Steemit and in life in general.)

Hello @dana-edwards! Well, I usually appreciate your publications (and the fact you produce your own articles), but this one triggered bitter reactions in me... Ok, this ISN'T an article, and here may lay one of the reasons for my discomfort: how is it that Steemit ethics (and/or world vision) leads some of us (including the most influential ones) to publish a plain post to celebrate their followers numbers (without at least asking their followers NOT to upvote such a promotional post)? Actually, there could eventually exist a dedicated upvotes disabled Steemit section for this kind of initiatives (apart from discord, Steemchat, etc., where it already can be shared if needed).
I'll go on following what you write, and enjoying it on the very basis of its content and didactical worth, and I'd do it even if I were your only follower ;-). Your production and the public interest they raise speak for themselves, they make unnecessary any underlying post.

Hah, a point well made, but it's not as egregious as some who post filler relentlessly and drain the pool with no mercy. Rest of the stuff is quality at least.

Thanks, @charitybot! Indeed, here we're not facing a "haejin-like syndrom" ;-) Actually my approach of Steemit values it as a potentially long term (let's talk about a mininum of a century) "Internet archive" site, thanks to its free software and community based processes (I bet on the fact it'll survive Facebook), hence my quality parameters for what's published here are quite high, in comparison with any common forum or social network, and I literally do not take into account its retributive aspect, on the personal level (still working on my first consistent publication, two months after having registered here ;-)).
Btw, how are you doing with your charity project?

Quiet down before he hears us! Great leader Haejin is doing us all a great service. He is a champion of the People's Democratic Republic of Steemit and a national icon who we should respect. He is single-handedly responsible for lifting his people up economically by providing the entire liquidity of SBD's and Steem for Upbit traders to have fun with, and/or cut down on the per capita consumption of hair products in Korea after they're done tearing their hair out wondering why the prices never returned to the post-ramp peaks. So win-win because they either make money or save money.
Yeah, haters gonna hate, and it'll all be saved on the blockchain forever! What exciting times we live in. Ah, interesting! I'm sure we all look forward to seeing the fruits of your creative labor!
My what? Oh that! I see that someone has wisely chosen to audit the project! You see, our funds manager ran off with everything, and...
Okay, to be real, I am not sure how long this SBD Upbit price party will last, so I am kind of hedging bets here and not immediately converting it to Steem. That might be a little taboo, and I hope I'm not right for the sake of anyone who is choosing to buy in at these prices (I will feel like a big idiot if SBD prices go parabolic). Rest assured the generous donations the project has been receiving will be put to good use in the form of SP growth down the road, I've been working on some ideas and thanks to an impending generous delegation I won courtesy of a great contest held by @thefreshfive I'll start announcing some of the plans soon! Minnowbooster's contract hasn't filled yet, so I'm holding off till then, as I'm unsure of a 0 cent upvote post's visibility lol. Thank you for asking!

Congratulations! Currently my follower:post ratio is ~1:4. I'm looking to gain 5k SP and 1.5K followers in 2018, my first milestone is 500SP which I am still a way off.
Congratulations again, although I can't say that I am surprised, given the quality of the content that you put out!
