Tango is sharing a moment of intimacy and understanding, a passionate and playful dance with another person.

The Tango originated in Argentine and Uruguay in the 1880. The dance was formed by the candombe ceremonies of the slaves and the word “Tango” were used for musical gatherings of the slaves.

It is the first European couple dance involving improvisation. There are several styles of the tango as each region created their own style, they all share the common principles about leading and following though. Having the correct frame while dancing is very important and the dance position is “closed”. The steps are precise and passionate with heel leads, it has a rhythm and duration of “Slow, slow, quick-quick, slow”. The acronym tango is used for the five basic parts of the dance.

T (slow): the lead steps forward with the left foot, the follow mirrors by stepping back with the right.
A (slow): the lead steps forward with the right foot, mirrored again by the follow's right.
N (quick): the lead steps forward again with the left, a slightly smaller step, preparing to step to the side with the right.
G (quick): the lead steps to the right with the right foot, using a technique known as "collecting" the foot. This simply means that the right foot comes up alongside the left before stepping to the right, and doesn't move in the diagonal.
O (slow): probably the most sultry step in the basic, this is a slow almost-drag of the left foot towards the right, ready to begin the basic again. For the follow, it's the joining of the right foot to the left with a slow, deliberate motion.

Tango music has a 16/32 beat, 2/4 or 4/4 time. Typical tango music orchestra will consist of at least two violins, a piano, a few guitars, a flute, double bass and two or more bandoneons. The music is influenced by the African rhythms from the immigrants the Europeans brought in as slaves and is a combination of various music styles. Angel Viloldo’s tango was the first recorded in Paris but it is believed that Juan Perez was the first tango composer.

These are some of my favorout movies in which they dance the Tango:

the moves is truly sensual @crazymunzysa hehe , it's more aggressive compared to salsa .I'm not sure if salsa is the modern dance of tango these days. Do you love dancing? :-)))

I absolutely do fernwehninja, I love loosing myself in the rhythm and it offers me tons of happy endorphins. Spanish dancing I enjoy too because of the strong movents, it is so powerful and definite. I actually taught Solo Latin classes (Ramba, Cha Cha, Jive, samba, Salsa, and the Passo Doble), Bangrah, Hip Hop, Energy and Slow Style till I got sick. Do you have a love for dancing and which styles?
