The latest darkweb market on the scene Aero [.onion link], listed just days ago on DeepDotWeb as a referral market. It is currently undervalued at 3.7/5, looks to be trying to fill the gap that TradeRoute left after their exit scam last week.
With additionally T•chka / Point still offline after 5 days of downtime without any announcements, a growing gap has developed between customers and vendors.
As users begin to migrate from TradeRoute and T•chka towards newbies Aero, as well as Wall St [.onion link] and undoubtedly back to the increasingly problematic Dream Market.
With darkweb markets regularly changing, I thought I'd provide a small review of Aero.
Same as TradeRoute?
Aero Market offers payment services in Bitcoin and the increasingly popular Monero (the darkweb's new-found friend) as well as a list of different currency settings. It naturally includes and recommends PGP 2FA and offers Escrow service that have become the general standard for any serious darkweb markets.
What's different and new?
Aero has a generally slick and flash-free environment, one that can only be entered by modifying your tor configuration to disable flash in the interest of security. It additionally uses a built-in onboard-style keypad to enter a user's pin number, in what appears to be an attempt to reduce phishing attacks and registry key malware.
Compared to Dream Market?
Aero has approximately 1,100 listings for drugs, which is just over 2% of Dream Market's catelogue of more than 52,000 listings for the same category. Needless to say, the main difference is size, that and offering Monero that Dream still won't include.
Many of the larger more known vendors from TradeRoute have yet to make it over there, but no doubt the listings will multiple with the fragile state of darkweb markets at the moment, as this is when smaller markets thrive.
The other notable difference is that, as of writing, both the main onion links of Dream and Aero aren't loading, likely due to ongoing DDoS attacks. Aero doesn't have any mirrors as of yet, and is therefore offline, whereas Dream's five mirrors are working perfectly.
What do you mean by referral market, do I need an invite?
No, you don't need an invite, you can simply register. See below for more details.
Is it safe or risky?
As it's a fresh market, one thing you can be relatively certain of is that if it's an exit scam it won't be for some time, so it could be considered more financially safe than older wealthier markets.
Exit scams are becoming increasingly popular once the market (mainly vendors but also customers) have enough bitcoins worth stealing.
It otherwise hasn't yet undergone review from the DNM Superlist team so it's technological security is relatively unknown at this stage. So yes, it could be risky.
What's wrong with it?
treedoor1 on TradeRoute redit page reported:
Sharing referral links - no referral stats to show how many you have gained, or profits from those referrals displayed.
No transactions of incoming and outgoing funds, as TR had in the wallet section.
No add favorite vendor feature.
Search function is not as good as it could be.
Private messaging could be laid out better, more like [TradeRoute] or Agora.
Could it not just be TradeRoute admins?
Yes, it could be TradeRoute admins. It could also be T•chka, Dream, Silk Road or Wall St staff.
It could be a completely new team of enthusiastic admins or some veteran darkweb coders, aiming for their 2nd or 3rd exit scam.
Generally speaking, part of the mystery of the dark web is that we won't know who runs it unless it's been taken down.
Would you recommend it?
Of course not! That'd be illegal right? It's an introducing Aero Market article remember.
Are you involved in Aero?
Absoloutely not, please stop asking questions now!
