What is the point to go on the darknet to exchange coins exactly ? What is the benefit of it ?

    They don't exchange coins per-say, its more about exchanging coins for various goods and services. So in order to purchase something on Alphabay you would need bitcoins over there in your account to do so semi-anonymously.
