Widowed nearly 4 years ago, now I am an empty nester using apps like Plenty of Fish, Tinder and Zoosk and basically Putting It Out There to meet people. As a feisty intellectual, it seems possible to use the power of computers to meet great men. So where are they?
Dating in my 20s was not the same at all... and not just because email wasn't invented yet. Men in their 20s only wanted one thing so it was a process of sifting through them until they turned thirty and felt like 'settling down'. Now in our late-forties-to-early-sixties, our circumstances vary so much!! A man could have no kids but still want them, have young teens still in the house, or have a bunch of little grandchildren already calling them Poppy. Ugh.
So now I have to find someone good looking, compatible, available, AND in a similar life situation.
Oh wait- that's what I did to get married. (Thanks to the economy I don't see doing that again. ) So where are the men who want to actually SPEND TIME with a woman? Do they actually like doing all that fishing and hiking alone? I don't think so because once you get them talking they pour it all out. And they actually pay for nice dinners at this age too. Dating adults is daunting, but delicious.
This Merry Widow would like to stay merry, and not through adult breast feeding or killing animals.
And I will pour out the stories to you.
