David consulted God: And David's fame went out into every land, and the LORD caused all nations to fear him

The Bible tells us how King David in times of difficulty consulted God; David does not resort to faith, David is a man who fears God from his heart, and the Lord grants the King the blessing of the spiritual protection.
The fear of God (constancy, firmness, devotion, equanimity) in the Bible is above all a spiritual gift, but it is also a bond of spiritual perfection that allows us a special contact with God, as David teaches us with his example.
But David does not act motivated by greed and fear but by the most perfect for which a man can act, the glory of God, in David's life sin is not a habit but an exception. And as the like seeks the like, God blesses David's actions and helps him achieve his goals. The Book of Psalms reminds us: "Blessed are all who fear the LORD, who walk in obedience to him" Psalm 128:1.
The Bible constantly gives us David as an example to follow, David is a branch of the vine of the Lord. The Bible tells us how David, upon being crowned King of Israel, was attacked twice by his worst enemies, the Philistines, but David, helped by the wisdom and the counsel of God, defeated them.
This is how the first book of Chronicles in the Bible relates the facts:
"One more the Philistines raided the valley; so David inquired of God again, and God answered him, ´Do not go directly after them, but circle around them and attack them in front of the poplar trees. As soon as you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the poplar trees, move out to battle, because that will mean God has gone out in front of you to strike the Philistine army.´ So David did as God commanded him, and they struck down the Philistine army, all the way from Gibeon to Gezer.
And David's fame went out into every land, and the LORD caused all nations to fear him." 1 Chronicles 14:13-17.
