DAX emergency update 28.12.17

in dax •  7 years ago  (edited)

Today the DAX had a short kumo breakout out in the 4 hours chart, which is was not expecting. Then, I decided to take a look at the big picture again, and it dawned on me: impulse wave C alert!

I absolutely love wave Cs. I am usually at my best performance when there is a wave C or wave 3. Here is the new count:

The old count turned out to be wrong, it was still a corrective structure, but I only realised it an hour ago.

This breakaway gap above the cloud turned out to be a false breakout and really was a di.ck move, which cost a lot of people a lot of money...

The good thing is that I immediately opened a big short position @13000 in the DAX which is already 20P in profit right now.

As you can see in the picture, I plan to keep this short position until approx. 09.01.17 or until I see 5 waves down.

This is an 80% probability trade. I plan to increase my short position, when wave 4 is done. My target for wave C is 12480.

By the way, this double correction followed by a triple correction is a quite rare occurring pattern... which is why I did not even consider it for one second.

That's a good thing you recognized it when you did. I probably wouldn't have thought about taking a short position, usually I just sell and run. I still have a lot to learn I think.

Thank you very much for this important information

its look like good news for you after your hard work congratulations to you
keep going on

you wouldn't happened to have done a post on shorting would you?

No I haven't. In some countries shorting is not allowed.
I however can buy "put options" (gaining me money when the price goes down) or make a CFD short trade (which is what I always do when daytrading, because the flexibility is insane, I can open an close transaction within a split second).
I heard that in America for example CFD is not allowed, but i don't know for sure if it is true. It means "contract for difference"; I get payed or have to pay the difference between my buying and selling price on leverage.

ok.. i don't think it's illegal here in India. I must figure out how to do this on bittrex and try it out with a few tiny amounts. Thanks again @ew-and-patterns !

No, this is not the same as margin trading on Bittrex. Is it an over the counter deal with my broker. I am not trading real shares realtime, just derivatives on the underlying.

ah ok! i really do have to and want to learn about margin trading too. baby steps i suppose.

Wow...good luck always

very nice! Thanks for the heads-up
