AN EMAIL THREAT HAS LED TO FOUR BUILDINGS IN TIMMINS BEING EVACUATED.
They are the YMCA, Pope Francis Elementary School, Schumacher Public School and the ABC daycare facility on Moore St. in South Porcupine.
Following standard procedure, administration at the four facilities was asked to evacuate voluntarily and complied.
Children in daycare at the Y were already at the Archie Dillon Sportsplex and were held there. It’s unclear where occupants of the other buildings were brought.
UPDATE: All clear given at Pope Francis. Statement from Northeastern Catholic School Board: “Please be advised that there was an emergency situation this morning at Pope Francis Elementary School. All students and staff and child care partners were evacuated to the Board office located at 383 Birch St. N. and Ecole St. Jacques Cartier. All students and staff are safe. The school has been re-opened and all students and staff members have returned to Pope Francis Elementary School.”
We will update as we learn more on this situation!
