This is yet another quote with which I kind of agree, but not entirely. What do I mean? I am not against dreaming, because without a dream, Martin Luther King wouldn't have made his famous speech. If you don't dream about something, you will not see it on your inside, and if you don't see it on your inside, you will not be able to acquire it in real life.
But, I guess the focus here truly is on the difference between daydreaming and a good kick in the pants. Because there are way too many people who are simply daydreaming and hoping for change to come and for them to suddenly get rich. But, without hard work and taking those dreams into action, you will remain a daydreamer. And for such people, a hard kick in the but will often be a way better solution!
There is an example in the Bible in which Isach looked at his sons who were starving in Israel. He asked them whether they wanted to just die looking at one another or instead go to Egypt to ask for wheat. Well, they stopped dreaming about food and actually took action instead. That saved their lives and this lead to the story in which Each and his sons moved to Egypt, met with Joseph, and their lives changed entirely.
Dreams will get you nowhere, a good kick in the pants will take you a long way. (Baltasar Gracian)
