For me it comes down to what era or decade of comics you're asking about. In the 1960's & 70's as a young man I much preferred Marvel over DC. Titles such as The Fantastic Four, Silver Surfer & Conan the Barbarian were just a few that I still have. When I started buying comics again in the 1990's with titles like Lobo & The Spectre DC had the cool books.
