Almost a month after the tragedy that claimed the lives of Dominic Lemieux-Richard and Christophe Thivierge, members of Quebec City's rock / metal band Matriax, their local comrades will gather for "a moving show that would have makes you tripper.
"They almost deprived themselves of doing shows and making themselves known. At the same time, their goal was to make the world tripe, "says the main organizer of the evening, Kevin Paré Houde, radio host and founder of a Facebook group that brings together more than 18,000 metal enthusiasts in Quebec.
The late members of Matriax, Christophe Thivierge and Dominic Lemieux-Richard.
Voluntary contributions
Four rock / metal bands, all based in the capital, have spontaneously agreed to offer a performance on October 3 at the Bûcher Bar Spectacles in Charlesbourg.
"We want to show families that they are not alone in crossing this and that we are there to support them," says Paré Houde.
The organizers will request a minimum contribution of $ 10. Already, more than a hundred people have confirmed their presence. The profits will be entirely given to the survivors of Matriax.
The instigators of the show raise that the formation had begun to compose songs for a second album and that the money raised could serve to concretize this project. However, the decision will belong to the remaining two members of the formation.
Always difficult
Although more than two weeks have elapsed since the accident, the shock is still great for those who knew the deceased. These were respectively 23 and 20 years old.
According to Mr. Paré Houde, the drummer of the formation, Cédrik-Alexendre Andrews, is still in the hospital in a serious but stable condition. Their friend who was driving the car was also seriously injured.
The deadly face-off took place on September 2nd in Ascot Corner, Estrie. The cause of the accident is not yet known.
"I thought about parents. We are not supposed to see our child die. It's nonsense. I always said that metal is a family in Quebec. Matriax was part of the family, and the families of Matriax are part of it as well, "says Kevin Paré Houde.
