Saw a review of Deadpool/Wolvie that said it was shallow and pandering.

Of course it was shallow and pandering. It was a Deadpool movie. And it was awesome.

Nobody is going into it expecting a deeper allegory or it's adult content to be challenging rather than profane. Nobody was asking for that Deadpool movie. There's MCU properties that do showcase more than gratuitous violence and inappropriate humor of the type that brings out our inner teenage boy. Civil War and Winter Soldier come to mind as contributing more, and hopefully Brave New World follows that trend. The Infinity War Saga of the Avengers was epic.

But none of those are in Deadpool's lane.

If you're not looking for dick jokes, nostalgia, or cartoonish ultra-violence on the telly, then don't see it. If you just want a deeper underlying concept to ponder long after you've left the theater, see something else. But if you sometimes like fun, grab some popcorn and stfu.
